Push Button Starter
Yo, I've been reading some posts and some people in the third gen sectio have been ranting and raving about the push button starter. I think it'll be a great addition to a second gen too! For those of you that have done this, where did you place the push button starter? and also HOW did you wire it up? A diagram or ANYTHING would be much help!! Thanks!
Peace,
AJ ^_^

push button starter would be wicked! But my 7 is pretty fussy starting.. especially the first time each day... I don't think a push starter would work for mine.... And I suck with electrical stuff... I try not to touch my battery, because I will probably electricute myself haha

Couldnt be simpler. This is also a good fix for auto to manual conversions to bypass the neutral/park switch, and people who dislike the clutch switch.
You need to get 12v switched(key) power from somwehere, probably the fusebox is the best place. Use a dmm to isolate a terminal that is on when the key is on, off when the key is off. Run a wire from there to whereever your switch is. Run another wire from your switch to the starter trigger(top slide connector, small wire). Take the stock slide connector off and leave it hanging or tie it up. Now hook up your 2 wires at the switch, then hook up the wire at teh fusebox. You're done.

Again, here is your outline:
1) isolate SWITCHED 12v+dc terminal in fusebox suitable for running a small wire out of, use a slide connector to fit the fusebox terminals
2) run this wire to wherever you want your switch
3) run another wire from where you want your switch, down through the firewall or through the shifter assembly back to the actual starter.
4) On the solenoid(small cylinder on top) there is a small slide connector. disconnect it.
5) connect the wire you just ran to the terminal on the starter you just exposed. use a slide connector similar to what you removed.
6) make the connections at the switch
7) make the connection at the fusebox.
8) remember that the car will now turn over anytime the switch is on. No park or clutch requirements.
how much more detailed of an outline would you like?

Hey, that's an awesome outline. Thanks a lot! I'll probably try it out within the month that's if it still sounds like a project I can do myself. In any case, I really appreciate you guys helping me out!
