Really? Hmmm that could be it then, is this nipple by the front forward of the nipples or back by the oil filler pipe?

There is a route of metal tube going through the vacuum spider that goes between the two points I named and I am not sure what goes there. If one side gets the intermediate housing hose then I am wondering what goes on the other side of it.

The large hose on the bottom of the Purge Valve goes to the nipple on the intermediate housing. The nipple on the intermediate housing that sticks straight aft. It is a hose with the appropriate curves to make that transition.

The pipe on the bulkhead connects to the piping on the engine. That is the only large pipe in that area . It sticks straight out to the left of the engine. As in right at you if your standing on the left side of the cars front fender.

I'll try to attach a jpg of THAT hose and pipe and maybe color it in red.

There are only two small hose on the purge valve that have vacuum at any time. That is the one on top and the one on bottom. IF you think one of them is a vacuum leak....well cap both off and prove that theory wrong.

Do you have the checkvalve in the TID??????

Notice how neither of the small vac hose go anywhere but the throttle body. In front of the throttle body by the way.

Again, THE LARGE HOSE ON THE PURGE VALVE DOES NOT HAVE VACUUM ON IT. NEITHER DOES THE LARGE HOSE THAT GOES TO THE CHARCOAL CANNISTER. I mean neither one is sucking all the time. They cannot cause a vac leak. Only one of the small hose can really cause a vacuum leak.

Someone chime in if I'm wrong here:

PURGE CONTROL VALVE
top nipple= attaches to the metal tube next to the purge valve pointing straight up. This is connnected to the front throttle body

bottom large nipple= attaches to the oil pipe

bottom small niple= attches to the metal line facing the drivers side ( should be below the purge valve. This also goes to the front throttle body)

large nipple on intermediate housing= attaches to the large metal nipple under the solenoids facing the front

Large hose on the bottom of the purge valve goes to the intermediate housing using a twisted hose. I colored that in YELLOW.

Large metal tube on the bulkhead goes to the large hose on the vacuum pipe rack. I colored it in RED.
That large metal tube on the rack also goes to the large hose that connects to the nipple near the filler cap.

The Haynes has a better diagram of the larger hose than the FSM.

Thank you, that is what I thought, and how I have it hooked up now. I think I found my vacuum leak, it is where I had to reinstall/reseal the UIM after swapping in my NA harness (I just did a Jspec swap if you did'nt know). I hooked up a hose from my air compressor and blew air into the intake then listened and could hear my intake leak clear as day. I tried to listen for a leak with the engine running but it was too hard to hear at 2500 RPM, the only speed it would stay running at. I have to say it turned out to be a great method to find a leak. I have now decided that since the UIM is coming off again I am getting rid of the rats nest, and doing just the essentials since La. has no emission inspections. Thanks again for clearing up the purge valve questions, I thought that might have been my leak.
