pulsation damper washer question.
I ordered The banjo bolt from summit racing. the part number has slightly been changed. I asked if they still offer the copper washers with it and they said no. I asked the sales person if I could purchase them seperatly and they said no, to go to a homedepot or hardware store.
does anyone know a good place to get the right washers and what size i need.
I have a 87 N/A base model.
Thanks

gotcha, thanks for the advice and info.
About the washers in the packadge, I hope it does come with them. I asked the customer service rep. at summit and he told me its not included. So we will see. Should arrive today?
Anyone know if summit racing is based out of OHIO? when I checked the shipping it was sent from Ohio. Just curious.
Thanks again.

Mine came with two (aluminum?) washers, and they worked just fine. I tried using the original copper crush washer first and ended up with an octane fountain Make sure you torque it down really well and jumper your fuel pump to test for leaks before you put it all back together.

If you're going to reuse original crush washer, learn what "anneal" means.
You need to heat it up hot and then let it cool.
A propane torch is fine.
Annealing softens the metal and gets rid of the "work hardening" for tightening the fastener on it from before.

Its not a dumb question at all...you get it all back together and then it leaks then you gotta redo everything...I got my replacement copper washers from a hydraulic supply here locally....just take the banjo in to match up the size....now if you re use the old ones you need to smooth them out on both sides with either a fine sandpaper (for metal) or whatever then heat them up with a solder torch to re swell them....I have done this with good success and I have also not done that and have had to re do the job.
PS...Ted beat me to it and he is right about the heating up....
