I don't know if this will work, but I hope this can work and save people out there money. Also prevent those dangerous engine fires as well.

the only problem I see with that one is that it is a "plug in" design and the S4 rail uses a screw on design and the lame S5 rail integrates the PD with rail so you have to replace the whole fuel rail.

Did like the info on why the PDs are used though:
A damper is critical to the proper function of any EFI setup. Rapid cycling of the fuel injectors and fuel system components in a running engine combine with the non-compressibility of the fuel; and create high frequency pressure waves in the rail. These pressure waves can cause substantial variation in the fuel delivered by the injectors; causing numerous running problems that are difficult to trace, in addition to increasing stress on the fuel pressure regulator.

Do you think this can be modded for use with a banjo bolt? I mean, I know that a banjo bolt can be used in lieu of the PD and it will work fine. There is a post about it in here somewheres. Just looking for other avail options. Hope others are looking for cheaper and better ways for other stuff, ie SS braided lines

actually what I was thinking was getting a delco fuel rail and seeing if that could be chopped up and a fitting added onto it.

That then would allow remote mounting of the aftermarket PD as well as easy interchangeability.

Honduh's use a screw-on PD that might be easily adapted to our cars. I have no idea what those cost to replace though. They have a premade line that has crimped on banjo fittings which slide over a threaded banjo stud then the PD is threaded on the end of it. Might be worth looking into. This is from a b16 to ZC swap I did last week. It's a customers car at my buddies shop, so I cant steal **** and try it to be sure.

Go to a junk yard. The MX-6 and 626 both use the same PD, I do believe. That's what I replaced mine with.

Works perfect!

I have a banjo bolt. Better eliminated than crispy...

I do understand the potential need for one though. So someday when I find one that I trust I'll put one back in.

My local Mazda dealer retails $125 for a S4 PD and $202 for a S5 PD and rail combo.

Depending on year the Honda PD internals are almost identical if not made even in the same factory.

Honda PDs have the same problems as Mazda PDs. The only difference is that economy cars seldom have the same underhood temps that kill rubber like sports cars do.

But, you can go to nearly any junkyard and produce 100 honda PD's before you find a single FC one....

This was a 97 del sol (pretty sure on the year)

Yeah, but I'd rather not trust a junkyard component on something so inmportant a safety issue as an engine fire.
Eliminate or disintergrate?

Parrallel Fuel system! The pulsation dampers main purpose was to keep equal pressure to all the injectors. If you parrallel your fuel system than you can get rid of the pd. Doing this will also increase you fuel delivery. You can buy a new Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator from Summit for about $125. I would go this route rather that replacing the same part every couple of years.

Replace both of what? there's only one PD per fuel system.

I'll try and get one of the honda PD's and appropriate fuel rail fitting and see if this will work. I've been pretty sick the last few days so don't be expecting any lightning fast responses. I'll need to locate another primary rail to test it on too... I have a secondary one but no primary. (which is where the PD is located) <threads are different>

What you are looking at on the secondary fuel rail is the stock Fuel pressure regulator

I wonder..

If one off an MX-6 will fit, then on a similar note, a Ford Probe model might also work. Theres a slight chance Ford might sell this part cheapr than Mazda.

Anyone care to find out?
