It's called Duplicolor Metalcast, it's available in Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange and now Chrome. It can be bought at most auto parts stores.

That is just the normal casting flash.
However, Purple Power, full strength, will eat aluminum. I left some in my engine sprayer, that I hook up to the air compressor. I sat in the cabinet for a month or so and one day I went to use it. The bottom of the cup was stuck to the shelf. The Purple Power had eaten clear through the cup. You can even see how full the cup was when I put the spayer away, buy how far it was eaten up in the cup.
Now I'm back to spraying engine bays with a squirt bottle, it sucks. With the sprayer I could get some pressure behind the cleaner and do a much quicker job of cleanig.
If you want some bling in that front cover, all of those marks can be sanded out smooth. Makes a world of difference whether painting or powder coating. If you are going to be porting, you can use the same burrs, sanding rolls and stones to get the finish you want. Just plan on spending many hours at it.
