![Question](https://www.rx7club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I'm in the middle of the task of pulling my engine for a rebuild, an 88 N/T GTU, and I'm going to replace the hoses, belts, etc.
I'd like to do some modifications to increase reliability and longevity. One of the heater hoses that runs from the heater core to the engine on the drivers side (left side) runs under the oil filter pedestal. According to Mazdatrix, this particular hose is vulnerable to oil saturation.
Ok, my question is: Is there a means to protect this hose from oil saturation?

I honestly don't see the big deal. The fifteeen minutes of my time to create a shield isn't worth the thirty seconds I save to wipe some oil off of a hose.
