proper flush

i searched and i found alot of info but im still a bit confused....
i want to flush my system and i was told that all i have to do is open both of the coolant system caps (radiator up front and the one on top of the engine..) stick a water hose in there, start the car and let the water cycle thru until iw was clear???...is this right??
PLEASE HELP....I NEED TO DO THIS TODAY

Thats kind of bad for the environment. Drain it, fill it with water, run it, drain it repeat. you should only have to do it twice.

You could also do RETed's flush, but thats controversial. Read ALL of this, try to stomach the flame and choose your destiny.
