Talking Project Update......

After a long agnozing winter, the car is just starting to come together. I thought I pin-pointed the source of my problems way back in October or November, apparently I was wrong though. I had to pull the BNR stage III back off the car due to a bad rubber o-ring on my coolant return line. (Those coolant lines have been a real pain in my ****.)

Anywho, I wasn't really satisfied with how the previous owner sealed the blockoff plates on my LIM. I knew the ACV one in paticular was giving me a problem, so I figured the best way to seal everything up was to just pull the LIM, since I had to pull the turbo and replace those o-rings. Well, I came to find that my LIM gasket was saturated with coolant, and that the rubber o-rings that go into the block were junk. So, coolant was getting pulled into my rear most endplate and right into my combustion chamber. YAY! Needless to say, I ordered an entire new set of external gaskets from the dealer (for the 2nd time), they will be here tomorrow.

I've also had to get new copper crush gaskets for my primary fuel rail where the banjo bolt was installed, and just a lot of other "fun" things. I installed my EGT yesterday, and the profec-s will go in at the end of the week, as well as the dual alt. pulley, and then removal of the A/C system will commence this weekend.

Since the little woman is a Senior in Highschool, and obsessed with cars, and possibly even more knowledgeable about them than myself, she would like to take the Rex to prom. So, temporairly I will be running a stock turbo with RC 750cc secondaries, and all my other mods. (see VBGarage) Give me a month or so to get the BNR Stage III up and going, I just want to drive it now. I'll keep you posted. Reading Hondahater's thread has reminded me of the joys of troubleshooting....heh.

Just thought I'd post an update though, hopefully the LIM gasket thing was actually the problem, or at least one more piece of it. I'll keep you all posted as things progress.

I totally took my prom date in my rx over a year ago. She, though, was not too thrilled about cars like me and I just got my car, and it was snowing and icey. My windows kept fogging up. Anyways, she lived on the top of this hill and has a steep driveway in the woods. I made it up alright but going down, in reverse, I had to be towed out by their mom in the jimmy. Went back up to the top of the drive, turned around, couldn't get it into gear. Ugh. Finally forced it though. What a mess. Hope your prom isn't in early march.

Sounds good with the engine. Keep up the good work and by all means, hang on to that girl of yours.

We started dating back in December, shes 5'8" 118lbs, large B cups (I think she is lying, I think they are def. C's) and a red head with blue eyes to boot. She recieved a full ride to Ohio Northern, and more than half of her tuition to go to Baldwin Wallace, or Miami University for neuroscience and microbiology, she just has to choose where to go. Shes very intelligent when it comes to cars, but she is more into those overpriced VW's (Audis, jk), but thats alright. I'll post some pics. in the lounge eventually.

Prom, yea it should be interesting being that I haven't been to one in 3 years. I forgot what a pain in the *** it was, and also how expensive it was too. Oh well, I guess its worth it since the little woman treats me well.

As for the FC, hopefully I'll have it running in semi-stock form by this weekend, I just hope this damned weather turns around for the better. As far as getting the BNR ready, all that really needs installed is the e-manage (simple), and I still have yet to purchase intercooler piping for the FMIC thats been in its box with the other $3k in parts in my garage. I just look forward to driving a car that I've paid insurance on for six months and only driven one month total, lol.
