that looks nice bro. so much easier than spilling oil all over yourself to do a filter change!

I think Brian knows this, he came in for a $300 tranny job...............
oh bust!

Then again its not really going BIG on every job, every part of every car is so screwed usually, kind of hard to make a hot rod out of a 20 year old vehicle...
That's why I took my car to you. You pay so much attention to detail, and don't just fix what's broken. Don't want to blow this motor after 5k too!

I think you know what I mean though. The oil filter relocation was a big job...I remember when you first talked about doing it and how it sounded really simple (at least I thought it sounded pretty simple, I did one on a honda prelude and it took like 3 hours, came in a kit)... then when it actually comes down to putting it on my car we realize that the battery had to be relocated, the power steering had to go to manual....all the lines and fittings had to be sourced and fabricated...custom brackets and plates...etc. It was definately a LOT of work (only you know exactly how much! )

i was going to do all that stuff anyway, so it didn't bug me too much. But it is just more stuff that adds to downtime. I just want to drive the car. I have driven it about 2000 total miles in the 18 months that I have owned it....and in that time it has cost me nearly $20,000 in what I have done to fix (albeit upgrade substantially) all the crap that was shitty (none of that stuff is your fault so don't think I am blaming you for downtime...I am just stating it). You should see my receipt book!!

Hopefully it will pay dividends. It is definately top notch work though, you do have an uncanny attention to detail in the fabrication and building of the engines and related hardware. I could probably teach you a few things about project management from a business standpoint, including managing customer expectation, though everyone has their weakness

LMFAO!!!!
you gotta admit tho, it really cleans up the bay. Plus, it'll keep oil temps down.

Turblown sells em... hit em up if you want one. They also make the oil lines to go with.

I was not trying to bust anyone's *****... I am a project manager... well at least that is where I started, and it is something I am very good at and managing everyone's expectation of me and those who work for me. When someone expects something tomorrow and you deliver next week you are dissappointing them, even if their expectation was unrealistic. That is a HUGE part of business and the biggest part of sales...managing expectation. I hear about it everyday...lol...

It takes a long time to get used to that, and I wish someone had helped me with it when I first started...

I respect Elliot a lot, for what he does. He knows that...at least I hope so!

No more from me on the subject...I have derailed this thread enough!

So what is the progress on your car Nick? Did you get that interior in yet? I mean, what has it been like 4 days...???

ya, i know you weren't bustin him. I always give him **** about that because my job demands the same type of thing. I learned proj management through out college, and it still applies to the projects I work on now.

it seems that all my deadlines are past before i even get the proj! When youre dealing with peoples money/time, you gotta prove to them that you can be trusted.

anyway, tons of respect for elliot as well. that shop has come far in a short time!

hey fellers, here's some pics of the interior now.

I took some Simple Green to it last night, and scrubbed the **** outta it. Took out all the old insulation, rear window sprayer bottle, money I found under the carpet...

Hey bro, well I didnt take the black sound deadening out. that is a tough job. The old insulation was stuck to the metal floor from all the years of heat down there. I just scrubbed that junk off. Only took like 2 or 3 hours.

no big hurry for me, it's not like the car is going anywhere this week. Besides, I am waiting for the battery kit. Should have the interior done this weekend.

I mean, you didnt see what kinda funk was under that carpet! I actually scrubbed the inside for 3 hours. After that, I had to get all the dust outta the vent ducts. you didnt have to do any of that to your FD
