this thread is pretty much pointless.

everybody

EVERYBODY
has a diff. driving technique you need to keep practicing and figure out what works best.
try using your brakes to transfer wheight. try diff. suspension settings ect. ect.
no one has identical driving techniques.

I agree with you too lol!! I was mainly agreeing with RE_GTUs opinion on how everyone drives different with their own different techniques!! For example, I drift with one slipper on for the gas and barefoot for the clutch hahah...its an odd combo but it works for me!!

back on topic though,

seeing as he has some nice tires, i'm gonna assume his suspension isn't keeping his weight distributed properly. you can only drift as well as the car can handle it, even the drift king keiichi himself would have major problems in an unproperly setup car. he even said himself that suspension and brakes are the most important.

I personally drive barefoot when I really "drive"

and if you really think you can correct understeer by reading something off the internet you are a n00b.

I also have a problem with understeer in certain conditions, but alot of that is my driving style. I cause the understeer, its all in how you drive.
reading how someone else does it will not fix your problems,
I am just speaking from experiance.

anybody who really knows anything will tell you it all leads up to seat time.
sure they can give you some basic ideas, but it all boils down to how you drive.

that is all.

well for a "noob" its nice to hear how other people fix their understeer. We were all once noob's and im sure you had plenty of question on what to do, unless you were just a pro at your first drift. Giving him our opinion's opens his variety to try things and maybe he will take a little peice of all our information and fix his problem!! seat time is very important, but whats the point of seat time if you dont know where to start, thats just how people wreck their car and get hurt!! all we are trying to do is give him our answers to how we fix OUR countersteering problems...cause thats what he's asking us...

Yeah I am 12 or 13 depending on the shoe, and I have to do the same thing.

This link has a list of things you can do to correct excessive oversteer or understeer in terms of car setup.

driving barefoot is seems to give so much more control over the throttle and gas, and is it possible the back end isnt sliding due to the dtss. this seems to be my problem, and ive been practicing heel toe do to the lack of an e-brake.

and
http://www.secretelement.com/newparts.html
sell dtss eliminators. I'm ordering mine friday in hopes they help a bit.
good luck drifting that fc.

I say practice makes perfect. You are probly having understeering issues cause of your technique. If your font tires are still ok then that's my bet. Even with a blown suspension figure 8's and donuts are possible.

I could help if you wanted to reduce understeer during hard cornering, which could be dangerous........then I saw it was for drifting, which is retarded.....so My advice is to check, and replace old worn out suspension components.

I only have "drifted" when it rains because that is the only time my 7 should get sideways.....drifting for anything else besides an emergency situation is IMHO....have fun and keep it on the track unless you're looking for the next DARWIN award.

I started practicing drifting three or so years ago, so no F&F3 crap coming from here. I have a family so getting to events is hard for me. Also I'm not some Noob, this makes FC #3 for me. Previous FC's were built more for drag and not very street friendly. Now I have a cherry 91 w/AB package. Working with a limited budget I like to know what works and what doesn't so I don't waste money. It is best to learn from experience, and the experience of others is included. Thank you for the helpful suggestions. I know a lot of it is technique and I am working on that but also setup has a lot to do with it.

Kane

Edit:
I like drifting have been into it for a while. Why flame me for that. Some of you like track days, others like drag, and still others autocross. I do not flame you for that. This is what I choose to do so don't "flame" "retards" like me that ask specific questions. If I were 17 and the title of my thread was "I want to drift, whats the best coilovers" I could understand a good flaming. What I want to know is why does my car understeer so bad. Especially with bad DTSS. Now if I am not asking a sensible question please feel free to flame away at this retarded topic.

well, just to be fair, i think alot of us are not doing this because of F&F crap.... honestly its more like we like these things, THEN F&F go and destroy it for us....

the next thing u know, people will bash on Rotaries or japanese cars because of F&F....

though i do not want to see more dumb kids doing stupid **** and pretend to know cars/drifting, i say we should not bash EVERYONE who likes it, just be responsible....

Have you maintained tire pressures on front and rear tires? Incorrect tire pressures can change handling characteristics severely. What type of tires are you running?

How about you do us a favor and stay off this thread then. We will do what we want with our 7's and we will leave you to do what you want with yours. We are not talkin **** about you or what you do with your car so just back off and cut this F&F3 bullshit!! If I want to drift and autocross im gonna do it!! So the only thing your words are doing is pissing everyone off who drifts. Its their hobby so let them do what they please!! Thank you
