problems starting

Hey everyone!

Gota problem, my 91 automatic RX-7 <i know i know, automatic, not by choice...> sat fro a good year and a half. wont start. Gonna try fully charging the battery tonight but just wanted to get your guys take on it.

got a new battery, but left a light on and it died, hece the charging tonight. It will start when i jump it, but wont stay on unless i keep pumping the gas pedal. all my fluids are topped off, and spark plugs are good, alternator is good to.

Think the battery charge is whats wrong? or is the gas just too old?

in the latter case, is it alright to pour some new gas in with the old? <only got a 1/4 of a tank right now> or do i need to flush it out?

It depends on how much gas and what you mean by bad. If you have very little fuel in the tank and you mean it is just old gas, then pour in a can of Seafoam or Techron fuel treatment. If you think there is water in the tank and the tank is less than 1/4 full, then pour in a can of a product called Heat. Now fill the tank with at least 5 gallons of fresh gasoline and start the car. Now if the car has over 1/4 tank of bad fuel, then you need to drain the tank.
