Unhappy problem starting my car please help!!

1990 rx7 convertible

i was replacing some hoses from under the intake manifold when i created a smoke near the the right side of the engine. i forgot to disconnect the battery but anyways i found out that my main fuse had just blown because of that so i replaced it with a used one. I put everything back together when i happened to break off the green plastic tip of the injectors but continued to put everything back together.all this tok a few days took a few days to do bythe way.well i got back in the car it would crank but not start up, i tried it many times. then i checked and charged my batery then went to see if i was getting spark and did but when i cheked my spark plugs they were all wet with black fuel, by the way i happened to buy spark plugs 2 months ago. well anyways i found out that my car was flooded so i did the unflooding procedures where i took off plugs cleaned them very well added atf to bottom holes to build compression then took off egi fuse and an extra fuse then got in car pressed accelerator dowwn and cranked for 15 secs. then put everything back together and cranked like it almost wanted to start but did not. i did these same procedures all over again 12 times but still wont crank all the way with my batery charged fully. idont know if i should continue to do this. also i checked my secondary injectors and they kinda move and fuel come out a bit.

if anybody knows anything about this please help

Whoa, dude. You blew the MAIN fuse? Um, depending on what component caused the "smoke", that could be a Bad Thing. You could have nuked a ground connection, fried your ECU, done a number of things. In addition to messing up your injectors.

Now when you say "green plastic tip"... I'm no injector expert but that seems to me to be part of what makes the injector work... so from your incomplete description I can only assume the worst, that you totally blew your injector, unless you can elaborate a little further. Now, the injectors are supposed to be a little loose, but not too loose. And fuel should NEVER leak from them during operation. If it does (as you mention) STOP immediately, take the injectors out, get new O rings and insulators, and probably you need to have them serviced. Again, that depends on exactly what you mean by "fuel come out a bit" and "happened to break off the green plastic tip"...

So, so far there are a number of possibilities, including frying your ECU, having broken and/or otherwise damaged/leaking injectors, and I might only assume other issues, both electrical and physical (e.g. did you check ALL the vacuum hoses, electrical plugs, etc... when you reassembled everything? Did you do it again now? ). So, please give a little further info on those injectors, and hopefully on what you made "smoke" to blow the MAIN fuse.

One other thing to try: go to iluvmyrx7.com, get the FSM (manual) for your RX7 model, and read how to check the ecu error codes. You may be able to get some additional information from that.

Good luck, and let us know some more! I know how it feels to have no clue about a critical problem.... just read the service manuals, be more careful when you work on your car (you are lucky you don't have an engine fire!), and DEFINITELY send more detailed, clearly written posts if you can! Thanks!

The more you do, the more you read, the more you learn, the better you will be at fixing stuff yourself. Stick around this forum and fc3s.org, and a number of other great sites which everybody has mentioned already, and you'll find a wealth of information on these great cars.

hi thanks for replying, about the injectors' green plastic tip i mean the part of the injector that sprays the fuel and goes directly onto the manifold.this part is covered by a green plastic and has a pointy needle hole which goes onto intake manifold. Well by removing and installing it so much that plastic started getting cracked and eventually breaking off. on one of the injector theres only half of the plastic remaining and the other is completely off. maybe this is why my injectors move a little when i push it back and forth and fuel leaks out from the fuel rail. im doing all this when the car is off because obviously it wont start.

about the smoke when i was putting everything back i caused a spark but im not completly sure but the spark might of came from the alternator i think maybe when i touched the alternator cable with a wrench or a metal object. and then i went to start the car but all the power went out so i checked my main fuse and it was blowned. i dont know if this could have damaged my ecu.

also i tried to go to iluvmyrx7.com that u recommended but it wont let me download the manual and i already have the acrobat reader 5.0. does it let u download the manual.if it does can u send me some info if u can.
also all my hoses are connected and all my electrical plugs are connected as well.
