Problem starting

Ok...first I'll go into what I've done. I've got an S5 but had no engine and can't really afford to get one at this point in time. So I stuffed one of my S4 engines in it. Everything is S5 except the block, though all of the emmisions components have been removed and OMP is removed and blocked off.

One, premix is supposed to be 100 to 1 right?

Also, when I'm starting the car it'll start if I play with the gas and hold it around 3K, but it runs very rough...very very rough and knocks from time to time (I think it would be the rotory equivelent of a knock). If I let off the gas then the car dies immediately. If I don't play with the gas and start it it will run to 1100rpm and then die instantly. Anyone got any ideas?

I also need all of the parts that control the TPS...I've managed to lose those lil pie shaped things from the rod that turns the TPS. I've got one controling the sensor closest to the throttle body but the other isn't being turned at all.

For street cars, the target is 150:1.&nbsp You can run "richer", but don't go below 75:1, as this starts smoking the exhaust.

Spark plugs wires in the correct positions?

I have no idea what you're talking about.&nbsp The TPS is just a potentiometer, and it contacts the throttle body via a metal stop.&nbsp I have no idea what you're talking about when you mention "lil pie chaped things"...

I haven't tried swapping the wires around, I've got em hooked up the same way I always have hooked them up. The rotor in front is the L1/T1 rotor, right, and the one closest to the firewall is the L2/T2 rotor? I know which plug and which wire is lead and trailing.

Those metal stops are kinna pie shaped...

You have been around rotary's too long.
You're talking about the TPS "cam" on the S5 TB.

Now THAT makes more sense!

The pie shaped things only control the full-range TPS, which is exclusive for the electronic oil metering pump.&nbsp The ECU does not use it's full-range signal for anything else.

so you have an S5 with S5 ecu but no OMP? that is probably your problem. it needs to be pluged in otherwise the ECU goes into limp mode. it should still start though.

If it still has to be there what's the point of removing it? And how do people get away with the mechanical OMP on S5's? I'll plug it back in but...

Anyways, the OMP TPS thing has the piece that controls it...I'm missing the rest so the other TPS sensos is not being moved at all...not that any of this matters anyways because the car doesn't run propperly.

Again, it's starting but only running if I play with the gas, and when it does run it runs very very poorly. It starts and revs to 1100 or so like it should but then dies immediately. How would I know if the injectors were working propperly? Some help...any help guys...
