The problem with posting in the correct forum...

...is that nobody ever reads the posts in the other forums. This is an audio question reguarding the stock radio deck, and splicing in an amp and subs. If anyone has done this, or knows how it's done, I'd be very appreciative of some help! Thanks guys!

This may not be what you want to hear, but I strongly believe that retaining the stock deck, especially if you want to add external amps, is a complete waste of time. The stock 15yo stereo is eons behind new decks in performance and features. For starters you won’t be able to send line level signals to the amp(s), you’ll have to send speaker level signals. This will introduce extra noise into the system. CD player technology has also dramatically improved, and will almost never skip, unlike the stock CD player, which is terrible in this respect. The list of reasons to upgrade is much longer than I can be bothered typing, so I’ll just say this. If you can afford decent amps and subs, you should be able to afford a nice CD/tuner. If you're dead set on this, just ignore me. But any decent sounding system has to start with a good source or sound quality will be compromised.

I'm Dead set. Actually, I'm not really concerned with sound quality, these subs will spend the majority of their time OUT of the car, I just wanted something to have for cruising on the weekends... The cost of a new deck isn't an issue, it's the idea of a stock looking interior. Show me an orange and black aftermarket deck if you really wanna sell me on one! Otherwise, help me read this FSM wiring diagram! Should I just be tapping the signal to the rear speakers? I think the door woofers run through their own amp, and that would probably screw up the signal pretty badly running it through another amp... Soooo? Anyone have any suggestions?
