Is this a problem? Fuel Pump question

I installed a walbro Fuel pump and crushed and got the metal nipple stuck in the rubber hose. The top of the fuel pump connecting to rest of the tubing is not touching the nipple but close, almost touching.

the nipple stuck some where around here.

This is the metal nipple im talking about

Cut the hose off and fix the crushed metal nipple thing. It's just a regular rubber hose and can be easily replaced with standard hosing.
