is it aftermarket player? If so, it may have been installed half-assed. Aftermarket radios need 2 power sources...one constant (which keeps the clock/radio settings saved while car is off), and then a switched 12v....well, if for some reason there was no 12v to the switched source...I've seen people wire both of the leads to the constant source...which will turn the radio on fine and work as normal...but the radio will not shut off when the car is shut off because it' still getting voltage....you can manually turn your radio off with it's power button, but that would get annoying....

if this however just started, I would guess whatever switch kills the power to the switched 12v source for the radio...is not getting switched off when the ignition is turned off. You could trace it back and find out what's not working...or you could always just find the switched 12v wire going into the radio (RED wire if it's aftermarket radio), and tap into a different switched 12v source.

Instead of the red wire going to the ignition, it's tied in with the yellow 12+ wire that holds memory. If you want, just take the radio out and tie the red wire to the ignition wire.

But yeah- I put the CD player in my FC and it's purposly like that. I'm currently debating if I should wire it up correctly or leave it alone. I just turn it on when I get in the car and off when I get out. It's habit...
