Problem after 1 year storage.

Before anything, I DID search. All i could find were threads about either turbo idling problems or rough idling.

I stored my car for about a year and now my S5 N/A idles high (2,000 rpm). When I start it up from cold, everything goes as it should be (the engine idles high for warm up and lowers as the approaches operating temp).

The weird stuff:

- As soon as operating temp is reached, the idle shoots up to 2,000 rpm.

- When I drive slow enough for a while in a high gear to drop the rpms below 2,000, sometimes the idle drops around 800-1,000 rpm.

- When I pound on it, the idle returns to 2,000 rpm.

- When I try to adjust the idle, it would work for a couple of minutes of driving then return to 2,000 rpm. (eventually I bottom out the screw.)

Engine Mods:
- Fidanza fly wheel
- Rtek7 S5 NA Stage 1
- Solid E shaft pellet

Thank you and Good luck Gentlemen...

Sounds like the cold start cam is sticking due to storage.

If you didn't store the car properly, see http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/unstore.htm

Your the man, turns out that was the problem... DO you think its caused by cool moist air from my TII hood scoop?
