probably syncro but need assurance

It's been about 4 weeks with the dp/mp. With the colder weather we've been having my car is really making a lot of power. The stock clutch wasn't slipping but wasn't really grabbing at redline in all the gears. I'd barely get a lil chirp between 1st and second.

About 6 weeks ago I had my stock clutch replaced (I don't know why I didnt get 6 puck ACT then oh well) and the master cylinder. No they didn't replace the slave cylinder, I thought it was supposed to be done at the same time. Well in first gear and reverse the clutch pedal sometimes sticks for a second or too on the floor.

All of a sudden today from no where I get this NASTY grind in second gear. I'd been driving around all night and everythign fine. Of course I'd get occasional grinds like once every couple of days if I rushed the 1-2 shift, and I shifted pretty hard, but it wasn't grinding at all.

Even double clutching it grinds. If I throw it in really really fast it barely grinds. Downshifting from 3rd to second? Forget about it. From all the symptoms I gave I'm pretty damn sure it's 2nd gear syncro? but why the hell did it jus start from nowhere?!?! isn't that kind of wierd? I'll change out tranny fluid to redline mt 90 tommorow to see if that helps. Just wanted some input. Thanks for anything.

ouch yes if the fluid lessens the sound then you can keep it going but i would still replace the slave and master cylinder being that you only replace them as pairs and if you do have a bad synchro youll have new hydraulics for the new tranny....AS for the whole all the sudden thing, i blew a motor replaced the motor and then blew my tranny that night i got the motor in so sudden changes do happen.... blah
