CA Priming?

Do I need to prime my fresh rebuilt engine before firing it up? What other steps do I need to remember before I start my engine, your expertise will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

absolutely! make sure you have an oil pressure before you actually start it.

check for fuel and oil leaks. having an extinguisher handy is a good idea.

Jumper the yellow connector for the fuel pump to prime the fuel system, and also pull the CAS connector and crank the engine to build up oil pressure. And don't start it with ANY leaks. You should do a thorough investigation of all the vacuum hoses and electrical connectors to make sure everything's right. If it doesn't start within 15 seconds of cranking, let the starter cool for a few minutes. You also may need some oil in the engine to build compression if you rebuilt your engine with used rotor housings.

As long as it was built by a competant builder, no.
It should have all the lube it needs till you build pressure which is less than a second.
