pressing in rear toe eliminator bushings
#3
I just did this a couple weekends ago. I kept the rear uprights on the car (the sleeve thingy on the top was pushed in, not allowing them to come off). I used a 1 foot section of 1/2" threaded rod, some nuts, large, thick washers and a selection of large (~1 1/2") and normal sized (~17-21mm) sockets. You just insert the rod trough the bushing sleeve with a socket and washers on each end and tighten the nuts. This will cause the smaller socket to press the bushing into the larger one. It worked quite well for me. You should be able to use a vise in the same way (minus the rod, nuts and washers). I pressed the bushings out the bottom and it seemed to work well that way, there seemed to be a bit of a lip on the bottom that looked like it may have caused problems if I'd tried pressing them out the top, but I've heard of that working fine too.
Hope the job goes well for you. It took me about 5-6 hours to do in total with help from my dad.
