oohhh good idea mrgoodnight. Do you know how i would go about fixing that if it so? a gasket and torque it down properly? I am going to clean and inspect asap.

yeah I think that sounds like a good idea too. I wonder if its simpler then removing the pump. I am going to search for info on it. that thread pretty much sells the premix idea. That rotor was disgusting!

since i have the link to the picture may as well..
see that wear line in the middle? that is your lubrication tract from the OMP which mazda designed. now take the renesis which moved the single injector to 2 in the housing at the edges of the seal where you see the chrome wearing at the edges. guess what? the seal started to wear more again in the center and warp due to friction. then mazda made the renesis with 3 oil injectors in the rotor housing to essentially do a similar job of premixing to maximize affected lubricated areas.
premixing is superior no matter how you feel about it. premixing has been known to improve engine life and reduce wear by up to 30% or MORE while reducing chatter of the seals which can also kill the housings(notice the chatter in the picture as well? this was not even an abused high RPM engine).
problem with 2 stroke oil through the OMP pump is the lubrication is still isolated to certain areas of the motor. premixing fuel gets to all points of friction inside the combustion chamber.
so feel free to do whatever you want.
but keep in mind, mazda made the oil metering system just to conform to the pure FACT that not everyone is willing to premix oil and fuel.
jesus, we just had this argument on the 8 club...
this all has been thoroughly proven by your friendly rotary specialty rebuilders.
on top of that, premixing in rotaries has been around for as long as these motors have existed and still remains today. perhaps some things get redesigned and better with age, premixing remains.

Most of these engines blow for reasons other then oiling, I agree it adds life to the engine but a properly maintained rotary can go over 200k no problem. **** take apart a old pistons motor and it has wear as well, I would like to think that this would stop the wear process but let's get real and face the reality of what causes these engines to require rebuilds.

and after 20 years and 100k+ miles NOW you want to start?
poor maintenance and over heating is usually what causes most failures, get into turbo engines and its poor set up and tuning
the other thing to remember with injecting 2 stroke oil is its DESIGNED to mix with fuel where as motor oil does not mix as well

Issue with the injection/feed through the mop is ideally you want it to adjust flow by throttle. Simply feeding via gravity results in heavy flow during stop and go driving.
I have it feeding via throttle linkage but it was a lot of research and some custom pieces.

hey rob xx 7 do you have a write up on your setup? if so i would be interested in reading over it. Also is there a concern when the car is at idle it may not be getting enough oil since it is throttle fed? or would it not put in as much oil as the gravity fed while at throttle? So far i have found three ways to use 2 cycle oil. premix in the tank. gravity fed. and what you just described. correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh and my engine is getting a rebuild because the oil control rings are shot and its having severe overheating issues which i will find out the problem(s) when i pull her apart.

Its hard to decide , I may be buying an $1200 vert S5 FC with possibly this problem, atleast wht the guy told me what it was doing. Been reading a lot of threads this past week from CEL codes to replacing EOMP to fix limp mode. Premix seems to be my favorite choice . But did find a local guy selling the EOMP for 100 bucks. If I do get it , ima try and tackle the replacement myself which I heard it a poot to do.
