PREMIX 88 S/4 N/A-Synthetic 2 Cycle Oil versus Non Synthetic

I have been reading about PREMIX in the archive off and on for several weeks and all morning this morning. I see a lot about "use a synthetic 2 cycle oil". Now on a lot of discussions about what to use in the crankcase it seems that SYNTHETIC OIL IN THE CRANKCASE is definately a TABOO. \
Now, I really need some help here. If synthetic oil in the crankcase in an FC is not a good idea because it does not all burn up why is it a good idea in the PREMIX application. Would it not burn properly in that application too, thus leaving some sort of harmful residue ?

To my understanding, since it isn't injected through the OMP when solely running premix, synthetics are safe to use because they won't burn in the combustion chamber and leave the harmful residue there.

Unless you're talking about injecting synthetic 2-stroke oil into the gas tank, then i have no idea.

I think is has to do with the 2cyc oil being designed to burn and the reg. synthetic for the crankcase is not. I don't see a problem with the synthetic in the crankcase if you're premixing. We do that on the racecar. I had an FB that went 275k miles with a steady diet of amsoil(not premixing) so who knows, it could be certain kinds of synthetic.

Ok.

There are two types of oil being discussed here. The first is engine oil. This is a type of oil that is designed to lubricate bearings and cool pistons/rotors. The second is premix oil. This is designed to be mixed with the fuel and lubricate things as it flows through the combustion path.

With the stock oil injection system, engine oil is injected into the intake. It apparently does a somewhat decent job of lubricating the tip seals. However, Mazda had some issues with certain brands of synthetic oil back in development, and decided to issue a blanket statement warning against using synthetic oils. As many people can attest to, running synthetic won't blow up your engine, and oils have also improved somewhat in the past 25 years.

However, it doesn't change the fact that engine oil isn't designed to burn cleanly. Ever see a car with blue smoke coming out it's tail pipe? That's engine oil burning. Not a very clean burn.

Premix is DESIGNED to burn and leave a lubricating layer behind. Synthetic premix is also designed to burn cleanly.

So, with the MOP disabled, use whatever you want in your crankcase, because it won't be injected into the engine. There's no way "dirty burning" synthetics can harm the inside of the engine if they're not being burned in the combustion chambers.

As for premix, use whatever you want. If you want to use $30/gal synthetic SeaDoo stuff, go for it. However, I suggest Walmart brand el-cheapo 2 stroke oil. Remember, rotary engines ran for a good long time before needing oil injection, and they worked fine.

to premix or not to premix

So how does one go about eliminating the oil injection pump and going to 2 stroke in the tank.. also what kind of ratio would you want to mix at..??

you're serious? please use the search function and look up premix, or just go into the archives.

here are the options:
super el cheapo
walmart brand - $6 a gallon
semi sythetic - penzoil - $9 a gallon
synthetic - penzoil/other - $20???

as long a the oil is injector safe (tcw-3) or some similar rating it is kosher for zee injectors
so how about burning? they should all burn clean, we could use coconut oil,

from my basic knowledge of chemistry and mating habits of the anaconda (brazilian of course)
the regular stuff WILL breakdown over time and the sythetic will taste fresh if ya try it (pls don't) ??? right?? anyone with a Phd in chem here?

by synthetic I am assuming they mean man made compound, if you go any of the major lub manufacturer websites u can find detail "white papers" on their products.

I bought the big jug of silver something from sams club, I used that up, I do 10 oz per fill (15 gallons)
I am pretty sure my omp is working but not taking chances being a 90.
some have suggested 1oz/gallon,
whenever I fillup w/o 2 cycle, I feel my 90 has more power.

Huh? How do snakes relate to premix?

And if the non-synthetic stuff does "break down" over time, the time that it would take is so long as to be a non-issue. I go through something like a gallon per month of premix.
