power window problems,help please

ok so upon returning to work today my drivers side power window on the TII which hasn't been acting exactly normal and by this i mean shaking and clunking acting real choppy on its way down but goes up fine all of a sudden stops working. **** on me why don't ya. i can here the motor running when i flip the switch up and down but nuttins happening. so i get home and take the door panel off and pry back some of the plastic and find some **** bead looking cable thing laying in the bottom of the door. one end is connected to the motor and the other looks like its been snapped off or should be plugged into somthing. what the hell do i do? i'm about to go and grab a Haynes manual which i should of done on my way home from purchasing the damn thing but i didn't. any words of wisdom would be nice but as of right now the car stays in the garage till i can atleast put the window back up. oh yeah the window is in its track just won't move. also along with the passenger side window i can put the window up and down but only with the drivers side switch, if putting the window up or down with the drivers side switch and i hit the passenger side one the window stops for some reason. thanks ahead of time for the help. time to go and tinker some more.

sounds like the window may be off the track...try removing the door panel and look from there...dont run the windows!!! you may be grinding something inside and have to pay more to fix it. open the door panel and look inside, press the button only enough to see what it will do, then go from there...

Sounds like the regulator is busted. The assembly includes that cable (which loops back around the motor and window track).

You'll need to replace the assembly if the cable is broken

Yep, go with Icemark. Same thing happened to me. I managed to repair the end of the cable, but didn't think it would work. Tried it anyway and its still holding on. Can't remember how I did it now, and wouldn't recommend anything other than just replacing the regulator. Good luck

ok,good, actuator. possibly have the problem pinpointed. even better, but how in the hell do i go about getting a new one and how much do these things run? i mean i can take a run to the local junk yards but the cars are hard enough to come by and i don't feel like spending the day looking through them for a part that may or may not work.

well you might try the dealer as well, When I had to replace the one on my lexus SC400 it was only $90. And the price of Lexus parts make price of Mazda parts look like they are domestic made.
