Ever seen them with no tires? They just sprayed the front of the polished ones white. I felt kind of gypped

Whats up with some of the S4 cars having speakers in the middle of the door panel? My TII had them, that has to be the crappiest place for a midrange speaker.

This isn't an option, but I've seen an 87 TII with the cutouts in the taillight stamping for the 89+ taillights. My TII has them, but my old 88 TII and my 88 GXL didn't. Neither does the 86 Sport I have for parts.

my 88 didnt have the cutouts for the lights either. its wierd they made the lkey lights an option, on the 1st gen as long as you dont get the base (s model) you get the lights. the 85 rx-7 s model has no lights

my 87 T2 doesnt have power steering. has power everything else. but not steering. i kinda like it though, more direct-feeling. my friends 10AE parts car had headlight washers and i think the factory radar deector and the back seats.

My car is an 87 Base, it has manual windows, manual mirrors, power sunroof, power steering, a non-tilt steering column, aluminum jack, aluminum spare, no rear washer, it says security system on the sticker on the back of the drivers door sill yet has no light (wsan't there a light behind the shifter for the security system) and no other security system components, and no ABS, and I have Air Conditioning.
That's all I can think of for now.

The sticker on the door doesn't mean it HAS a security system, just means it meets federal theft prevention standards.

My friend has an 87 GXL with no alarm. That's odd.

My JAX Vert is black, no wing, and has been in storage (not driven) for 4 years.
I live in Las Vegas, and all my current cars are white.

My friend's 10th an has there three wierd things inside his car. they look like some kind of eyes possibly for a motion detector? definately stock. Two of them point at each other and are located near the roof on either side of the car. The third one is located near the controls for the moonroof and it just points straight back.

87 Base model
Tornado Grey

-Power Steering
-A/C
-No ABS
-No power windows
-No sunroof
-No power locks
-No rear wiper
-Aluminum Jack
-Steel Hood
-Alloy spare wheels

Seems kinda strange to have all that lightweight stuff and the have the 80lb steel hood instead of an aluminum one (which I bought, just needs paint before it goes on). Though I wish it didnt have A/C and had a manual rack. I already ripped out the A/C, but I'm leaving the power steering.

those little "eyes" in the 10thAE are glass break detectors, i think they are the only rx7's with them. very important thing to have though, dame bastards got my brother's new stereo on his 91 vert and they broke the glass, but no alarm went off

those eye things are motion detectors, my AE has them.

AE has mudflaps too, or at least, it had... they were the first thing I removed. mudflaps do NOT belong on sports cars.

my mudflaps were hard and say RX-7 in white with black lines inbetween and then really small font Anniversary Edition underneath

Thats what I was talking about, they're hard mudflaps, and kinda confirm to the car, where my little ******** just bolt on, and look kinda nasty.
But it wasn't on a 10AE, it was on a blue car, S5 I believe and he was on this forum. Now why can't I remember his name?!?

My first was an 86 - No moonroof, no p/s, 4 lug, 2+2, aluminum hood, no rear wiper, base seats. The only options on the car were A/C and power mirrors. It had the aluminum spare and jack, but I am sure all S4 models had the aluminum jack. Light little bastard, went like hell after the TII swap Actually, I did that about 5 years ago, before most people had even done it. With a stock tII drivetrain and Borla exhaust it went 14.10. Too bad it had to go!

Also, as far as the rarest option, I have to vote for the factory "Mazda" radar detector. I have seen only 1

I have an '88se with those exact same options, only mine came with an aluminum hood. Go figure.

My 86 came with all the lite options:
AL hood, AL spare, AL jack, phone dials, manual rack, no power windows/locks, no rear bins

And some heavy options:
Automatic transmission, A/C and sunroof.

I fixed the transmission with a 5 speed NA but kept the A/C and sunroof. Car is now a beefy 2580 LBS on the scales with full interior, stereo, emissions.

Strange option that came on my car? factory mud flaps (Solid type)

I always thought the lighted storage bins were a nice touch on the Turbo II and GXL.
