i've heard of people using liquid co2 (like the fire extinuishers) and spray it on their ic to cool the air. but what i would luv to see/do (besides tuboing my n/a) is to have a t-top. i always luved them on the zx's. any thoughts?

about the intercooler thing...yes companies such as NOS and ZEX...make nitrous feed kits to spray your intercooler as to cool the incoming air quicker, and that would most definately bring your air intake temp. below the ambient air temp. in most cases up to 50 degrees or more...these kits are for turbo'd cars tho so, if you dont have a turbo and you are gonna spend money on a nitrous system why not just run it to your intake and burn it??...I would imagine larger HP gains from any nitrous induction kit (dry, wet, direct port) than you could possibly get from spraying your intercooler with N20...unless your are gonna run a dual system, one to an intercooler, and one to an N20 induction system...that would probly work, with a little bit of fine tuning, you just dont want your intake temp to be in the negitives...you would see some really big gains then...but as for the hydrogen cars...I dont like the idea of sitting in a vehicle that could blow up new york city...doesnt sound too appealing to me...hydrogen gas is very unstable, and yes you do have to have a lisence to refill and I do also believe to transport it...at least in michigan...seriously think about it tho...the government makes bombs with hydrogen...a hydrogen bomb is more powerful than a nuclear bomb...ummm do you think we should let people drive this around and power thier cars with it?? in my mind people are far too stupid for me to trust with this kind of force...

Are you serious?

There is a HUGE difference between hydrogen power in a normal chemical process (H + 2O = H2O + energy), and a fusion bomb ("Hydrogen bomb"). For reference, a hydrogen bomb takes a normal fission bomb to provide the energy to detonate it. It's totally different realms of chemistry and energy. A hydrogen powered car will NOT explode like a H-bomb.

In actuality, hydrogen would be safer in the event of a leak than gasoline/propane/etc. Most fuels are heavier than air in their vapor form. Gas vapors? Crawl along the ground. Propane vapors? Still fairly heavy, though they may be lighter than air by a bit.

Hydrogen? If it's released, it's going to go straight up, QUICKLY. Hydrogen is insanely ligher than air, and in an open gas form (not contained by anything), it will make for the stars in a hurry. If it's headed up that quickly, the chances of it igniting are slim, especially compared to, say, a leaking gas tank where the vapors crawl across the ground close to hot exhaust systems.

And, before someone brings this up, the Hindenberg's spectacular fire was the result of the cloth, not the hydrogen. The aluminum based paint combined with the cloth to create something very close to the fuel used in the Space Shuttle solid rocket boosters. Hydrogen burns with a clear flame and no smoke - NOT a billowing dark flame with heavy smoke.

*shakes head* I hate to sound like an old fart, but what on earth *are* people learning in school these days? Obviously not spelling, *or* chemistry...

lmfao...

damn i better not go to class tomorrow... the hydrogen tanks in the engineering building might spontaneously begin fusion and blow this town off the map.

by the way, brandizzle, you figure out how to make hydrogen fuse in a normal environment (ie, not extreme heat and pressure) and bill gates will be a hobo compared to you. cold fusion is something people have been trying like hell to figure out for decades, and if anyone ever gets it, it will be the solution to every energy problem ever imaginable.

as far as exploding due to combustion, open air hydrogen explosions are mostly light and sound, very little force is produced, and russ is right aboutthe hindenburg.

by the way, im in school, and i know some stuff. maybe not much, but a little. see if that gives you any hope, russ

My mods were done to f-bodies but they will work on fc's too. One was a kill switch disguised as a lighter. The second was done by a friend: route the wiper fluid line to both rear tires and fill reservoir with bleach....

I have been thinking about doing this to my car. Cut out a peice of cardboard in the shape of a circle that is the same size as your s5 tailights. Next, cut out the center of that circle to the desired size. Black out the center of your tailight. Would that look sweet or what!? It would look similar to an r33 skylines tailights at night! Has anyone done this?

However, revision 2 will allow for just a brake light cutoff as well as an entire external light cutoff. Having to turn off the marker lights on the highway at night to use the brakes without lighting up the rear is suspicious.

Currently I have a full external light cutoff system as well as daytime running lights.

Adding daytime running lights is very useful. Not only are you more visible during the day, you can use them at night with the lights down for a dim "stealth" lighting arrangement. Not terribly bright, but enough to nagivate by. Don't expect to see a deer until you hit it, though.

Smoke screen shouldn't be too bad to implement, it's on my list of things to do.

Same with the license plate hider.

I'm in the process of designing a HUD controller for the '7, giving speed, RPM, and wideband output on the windshield, as well as coolant temperature. It's a ways off, mostly because I don't have the money right now.

Modifying the throttle body to allow the aux butterflies to close completely and keep the secondary ports totally closed off below 3000 RPM or so may have some low end torque & fuel economy benefits, not sure yet.

That's something i would definitely be interested in. My problem is i'm electric/wiring retarded. Was it pretty simple? Fairly complicated? I know basic stuff, but wiring just throws me for a loop usually...

Which "something"? The HUD? Non-trivial, to say the least. I'm planning to use a microcontroller to read all the data from the ECU inputs (with A/D converters as needed), process it into something meaningful, and display it.

As for the external light cutoffs, the information you need is freely available on the 'net in the FSM. I'm not going to be any more helpful than that.

Sorry meant to specify the light cutoffs. The HUD sounds interesting, but is out of my league...

it's simple (in theory) - get the 20btt, transfer case, driveshaft, differential AND U GOT IT MADE. fitment and tuning is all up to u. i did see they did that to a 1st gen wit a 13b for baja racing.

I've always wanted a long trap door under the back of my car that ran along the bumper that would open when you pressed a button and release large black sharp caltrops, which would pop enemy tires.
