Possible suspension issue: HALP!

I was bleeding my brakes and came across this interesting find (see pictures). This is on the front passenger (U.S.) side.

Is this an issue or something that I can ignore?

Oh, and the crack didn't seem to go too deep. Maybe a few mm's that I could see. It may have gone farther that I'm unable to see.

If its an actual crack it definately should not be ignored and i would not drive the car very far untill it is replaced. Its hard to really judge by a picture but if its just some surface rust cracking the piant i would scrub it off with some 32-80 grit sand paper and just paint over the area with some primer

I would replace the strut ASAP. Mine looked similar to that before this happened.

The strut gave me the reason to start my restoration early.

Looks like its time for new struts anyways, they look pretty old.

I'll sand it down and see how it looks. DGRR might be a no go this year.

Avoiding that would be a good thing.

Yeah, let me know. If I do go aftermarket I want something streetable, so to speak. I have a daily driver (Mazda 6) now, but I'd rather be comfortable in the 7 than be able to pull .90g's on a skidpad instead of .86 (or some other applicable example because I don't even know if that one fits).
