Possible limited run CraftSquare A-pillar style mirrors for FC

OK folks. Rishie @ AutoRnD has been in contact with CraftSquare and we can get these made if we can get 20 people interested.

Details are in this thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...70#post7035270

Convertible drivers who don't always have time to drop the top and drive with the top up may be interested in these due to the convex lenses. The vert has some pretty bad blind spot with the top up, these mirrors may help to greatly reduce those.

If you guys are interested in getting in some of these extremely rare(well I guess this may be a one time production run) mirrors goto the thread above and put your name down.

The car in the first post of this thread is the only FC with CraftSquares on the A-pillar that I know of.

The thread I linked to in the first post has pictures of the FD style mirrors on the first page(link goes to page 2 which is where the FC interest list is).

Interesting... it is very true that the 'verts have some wicked blind spots with the top up. But at the same time... I'd have to think there would be a way to counter that but costs less than $500.

Convex lenses aren't going to help the fact that these are useless little toy mirrors that don't belong on street car. If you really want to improve rear vision on an FC, get the stock Japanese mirrors. They're bigger than the US ones and convex, and practically eliminate the blindspots.

Funny, for about the same cost as some mirrors I'm getting my turbo upgraded. After that about the same price as the mirrors going to redo my wire harness. Then for a bit less then the mirrors, new sway bars and springs.

and whats funny is that you can get an el cheapo paint job for about that much. You KNOW that there is going to be some guy gets these and puts them on a car with just a crap paint job.

So basically what your saying is your cheap? $500 for your turbo upgrade? What, a used BNR stage 2? Or Just a turbo that needs a manifold + lots more?

I didn't expect the average FC owner to leap on this. This is more for the guys who run full T4 turbo's & full standalone EMS + loads more. Those folks that aren't scared to put alot of money into the better upgrades, and people that race their cars and may want some of the lightest mirrors available.

But if you don't like the mirrors simply because you think they cost too much thats great. But go post about it in the lounge. Because its irrelevant and no one cares here.

Not quite sure why you think these are toys. These are used all over the world in some pretty hardcore racing. What makes you think they aren't suitable for a street car? There are quite a few FD guys that run these on their street cars with great visibility.

Are you refering to the folding mirrors that are on your car? Those mirrors are pretty rare aren't they. I've read some reviews of JDM mirrors being used on LHD cars stating that the visibility sucks because they are meant for the driver to be in the other seat. Might have been for some other JDM aftermarket mirrors though. Are the folding mirrors powered or do you have to adjust the mirrors manually?

Just my opinion but the JDM folding mirrors are kinda fugly looking to me.

How do those mount? Doesn't look like an A-pillar style, looks more like you would have to drill the side of your doors to mount them.

If enough can get interested then we can make that happen. I've added your name to the list. LoL! 1/4 the way there!

Just for reference here is a pic of Craftsquare A-Pillar style mirrors for the FD next to an S5 Aero mirror.

Toys as in ridiculously tiny. The fact that they're used in racing is completely irrelevant, the priorities are totally different. Mirrors on street cars are safety devices, not fashion accessories. Paying a crazy price (for what they are) to get the "race look" at the expense of rear vision just seems nuts to me...

What makes you think they aren't suitable for a street car?
I think they're too small, simple as that. The bigger a mirror is the bigger the field of vision.

There are quite a few FD guys that run these on their street cars with great visibility.
It makes no difference what car they're on.

They were fitted to every FC sold in Japan.

I've read some reviews of JDM mirrors being used on LHD cars stating that the visibility sucks because they are meant for the driver to be in the other seat.
The mirrors are symmetrical, so that's incorrect. Both lenses are also convex.

Are the folding mirrors powered or do you have to adjust the mirrors manually?
They're powered.
