I have a 87 na. It started getting really loud and now its about as loud as a motorcycle. I checked the exhaust for any visible leaks. It sounds like the noise is comming from the bottom of the engine. ANy ideas? could the manifold be cracked?

No. Anything with the heatshield would likely just cause an annoying *** rattle. Odds are a gasket needs to be replaced.

Seems like you had a problem I had. I just went down to Atkins Rotary (i live in WA and they do too) and replaced the gaskets up front, fixed the problems. Just check the gaskets and replace.

Thanks for help, how much was it toreplace the gasket? Are there any good shops in the bay area that work on rx7s. I live in Oakland.
