OR porting your intake and exhaust?

so i gave this one a good search and nothing that i can tell gets me closer to knowing how to port my 13b. so i have heard that you can port the intake and exhaust to get more air flowing through your motor. i have heard you can do this with grinders and such. my limited understanding is that there is extra metal on the motor and on the parts that connect that can be grinded off. how dose this work? how can you do it? and is it a good idea?
thanks

DVD is available http://mazdatrix.com/videos.htm

Porting can only be done during a rebuild.

You can port your AFM, the plastic elbow, the TB itself, all 3 parts of the intake manifold can use a good gasket match. I even ported out the runner floors beyond stock and matched the gasket as such.. Remove the sleeves. You can also clean up a RB header.

Works very good, with a single exhaust with only a Magnaflow.
