Port questions

Part of the actuator is broken on one of my ports on my S5 N/A. I just hooked up the air pump and i'm running on the port closest to the firewall (not sure if that's the 5th or 6th) but not the other one. Is it ok to run the car until I get it fixed without one of the ports working? Thanks

I'm not sure, but why not just disable the other one...?

shouldn't have a problem. a lot of people have them stuck closed, or wired open.
if you want to keep your top end, just wire them open. or if you want to go all out, just take them out completely

So you're desperate enough to bump it after 27 minutes, but only because you still want top end power... gotcha.

You won't lose THAT much power. It's not like I'm talking about a permanent fix or something...

You will not damage the car if you drive it like this until it is fixed.

You will lose about 20 horsepower with them closed. That's a shitload on an N/A. I dynoed my car with them stuck closed and it was a 20 horse difference when I wired them open. Of course, I'm ported and have exhaust, but I figure on a nearly stock car it's gotta be around 20 still.

When you say the actuator is broken, do you actually mean the actuator (that the air hose goes to) or the thingie that comes out of the manifold, the sleeve itself?

That one guy who just got his car dynoed, closed he netted like 96rwhp, working correctly 150rwhp...

So a lot of power it is :P

the 150 is with the exhaust and intake mods + 5th and 6th ports if you're talking about what I'm thinking, and the 96 was closed without the exhaust and intake.

the 5th and 6th are suppose to provide about 20 hp above the 3800 limit, it's quite substantial, but nothing to be missed if you're doing normal driving, think you suffer a power loss with them wired open if you just do normal driving. By normal driving I mean shift at 3500 rpm and under.

I had to leave soon for work and the person who was giving me a ride cancelled on the last minute. I needed to know if I needed to disable the hose or not before I left. Sorry for being in a hurry.
