Hard to say without hearing it but could be as simple as an exhaust leak.

Its from running rich at idle, especially when the engine is cold.

Yeah it could be timing, When i advance the timing i hear it more there more of them. also when i adjust the rich lean screw to rich i hear a crap load of pops. You guys think a super AFC would help out this?

I think there is all kinds of things that could cause the popping ... my TII only does it when hot, and only does it with the "clean" smog chip in the ECU... If I put my high performace chip in the ECU it goes away .. and I know its not timing related .. my timing is dead on.... I think its related to mixture myself, cause like I said mine only does it with my smog chip install, that I can live with.

it is mixture all the way my car is an NA and it does it all the time now but more on the down rev just flaming like a submachine gun.... a turbo guy around here shifts at 2k and pops footlong blue flames which is related to being rich at idle
