Poll: Electric Fans

It's about time to find out what you're using (or would use) to replace that pesky engine-driven fan!

Especially interested in detailed comments about why you picked it, or things not on the poll...

Don't ask, SEARCH!

There was a post about this a little over a month ago, and I did a very detailed write up on why I chose the Fiero one and how to go about installing it. I think it's in the archives now, but just do a search and you should come up with it.

Anyone that has an electric fan also have a stereo system in their car? I want to do both but was thinking of upgrading to the FD alternator beforehand.

E fan

I got mine from Pep boys. It was dirt cheap. It works great so far. I have a 12 in the car and constantly both are on and I have never had any problems.

I just did a search for fiero electric fan and about 40 topics returned with anywhere between 5 and 80 replies. Do you remember which specific topic your write up was in? A link would be helpful.

I would like to get an aftermarket electric fan that does a good job at cooling and LOOKS GOOD. My engine bay is clean and I don't want a fan off of another junk car to bring it down.

Are any of you running these fans on the stock radiators? And how well does that work for you?

Get a push e-fan in front of the rad and you won't even see it.

I'm running the Black Magic because it has the most CFM that I found, and it can mount in my engine bay. It also has a built in thermostat that lets you turn it on from 180-220, then it isn't running all the time.

I am running it on my stock radiator.

I have the Perma-Cool "hand cutter" one that I turn on and off via an adjustable thermostat I got at Advance Auto Parts. It's been on the car 10 or 11 months now and works just fine.I pretty much go it becuse it was cheaper than the Black Magic and had the same cfm rating.

They have an excellent selection of fans. Used on many of the world's best race cars.

Oh yeah, from a cooling standpoint it is better to pull air through your radiator than push it.
