Plug in water jacket?

I'm trying to install a higher-end adjustable temp switch for my fan. I've already looked over the block for any plugs, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Is there anywhere in the block where a ~½" threaded sensor can be plugged in for the fan switch?

If not, is my prefered alternitive (a coupler w/ a bung on the lower side on it, in-line on the lower radiator hose) a good idea? THX guys ~Colby

if your engine is still apart you could use the hole for the rear coolant passage that goes to the TB. I plugged mine with a 1/4 or 3/8" plug but you could drill it out pretty easily

Just an Idea, your could just get a coupling and put it between the water line for the thermo wax if you wanted to it would be out of the way and it would get the water just outside the back of the block. But other than that I dont know were else you might want to but it besides the bung on the water pump outlet side, that is were I put mine. I only had to drill and tap, but its aluminum so its nice and easy.

The reason I liked the radiator hose idea, was it would always be in contact w/ the coolant. Also, I routed that coolant passage to the BAC.

The block is now together, and dropped. After the pain in the *** that getting the mounts to line-up was, I'll stick w/ the easiest plan possible; w/o any ill-effects (or anything that can't be cheaply un-done)

I put a griffin aluminum radiator in my suburban and had to make an adaptor for the heater return line out of some plumbing iron pipe. Make sure you put a bead on either end so the clamps have something there to grab on
