please help.....ignition problem

Hey whats going on everyone. Im a diehard mustang fan but i love all cars. Im sure as a newbie on here Ill get flamed for saying that but i guess it goes with the territory. The reason Im on here is that Ive taken on a challenge with a friends car. The background of the car is this. My friend bought the car in a non-running condition with a blown motor. I know this in itself poses problems but thats what i have. He spent the money having the motor rebuilt and him and another friend re-installed it. That was 8 months ago and the car still hasnt run.

I have the haynes manual for the car and have gone through the basics of checking resistance in the leading and trailing coil packs and also the crank sensor. I have also recently replaced the ignition switch on the car on advice from another friend to no avail. When i attempt to start the key with the ignition switch i get very erratic spark. what i mean by erratic is that it will spark sometimes and not others. Sometimes it will spark 2 or 3 times when i first try to crank it and it will spark once usually as i release the key. What i did notice is that if i spin the crank angle sensor by hand i get a good strong spark at all plugs. I have the crank angle sensor installed properly with the alignment marks in thier respective positions. The other thing i tried was jumping the starter. This resulted in again a nice strong spark at all plugs but still no starting. It may have been flooded out when I tried that so I will try the un-flooding tips I found in other posts. Hopefully someone on here can point me in the right direction so that the rx7 nightmares will go away.

Thanks in advance to all who reply

steve
