Playing with the 6port actuator spings.

On my car that has just about every bolt on possialbe, (Still need a HI-6, s-afc, and a larger mass air meter.) there would be a large surge at 3,800 rpm when the 6 ports opened. I figured, that by opening them a little earlier, i could make a couple more hp down low. So what i did was cut a 1/2" hole in the side of the 6port actuator, and heated the spring up, and compressed it. Basically weakening it by about 1lb or so.

What i noticed after installing them was that instead of the car coming on suddenly at 3,800, it has a less noticable transition point at around 3,5-3,600 or so. Maybe its my imagination, but it feels alot smoother on the transition. I'll have to put some more miles on it, to make shure its not my imagination.

Hey has anyone used a 89+ 929 mass air flow meter on there car yet? CJ
