this is the top of the TB, i polished the top and bottom and pinted the sides gloss black

this is the center, i used Jb weld to span the gap between the secondary TB's and smoothed all surfaces to a point

The JB weld will fall out and go into the motor, so just cut the metal out to the bottom of the crack and blend a flowing shape to it . If you used JB weld any where in my intake system that would be the last time you would touch my car. bad bad bad.

Yea, what did you use to polish that???? I tried polishing a few things, used up to 1500 grit sandpaper, and it still never looked anywear near as good as that.....

yeah it has happened to roy James, because that idiot put it in his sixth ports without securing it, mine CANT come ut and if it does it wont fit past the throttle plates.

my secret is in the way i buff it, get a dremel tool and the wide buffing pad, i have blue magic metal polish cream. i smear it over the metal very thin, and then go over it once with the pad, this should turn it black, then i keep buffing it until the pad picks up all of the polish... basically it burns it off, all of the spots that i cant get to with the pad i get with a Q-tip.

oh and i only used 600 grit so i supposed a higher grit would make it look even better

That looks pretty good. I don't like to use JB Weld. I prefer Devcon Plastic steel epoxy. They look very similar but the Devcon can withstand greater heat. Don't mind what temperature rating is on the tubes. I have Devcon internally in my intake runners and have never had a problem. Now you need to modify the throttle shafts for better airflow. Inquire as to how. You also need to mod the secondary plates so they open at the same time as the primary. This mod also permits them to open fully which they do not do stock. You might spend $5 doing the rest of these but it is well worth the money!

yeah jb weld isnt my favorite either but it works in this case.

what do yiou mean modify them for better flow?? use set screws instead of the stock ones.... did that already

in case you mean shave them to be more aerodymnamic, i might try that on my next one, but since i am using set screws i need to keep as much thread as possible.

i thought about making them open at the same time but i dont want to do that yet, i still need this for a road trip engine. and on my other engine..... well.. i just wont need to do that

doesanyoe know the actual melting point of jb weld. i am considering heating it and coating it with high temp epoxy. no only would this seal it fro moisture etc, it would give it a hardshell and make it ultra smooth
