Pictures of my possible RX-7 purchase

Ok me and Terrh went back out to the RX7 GX to take some pictures. What do you think? is it worth it?, I am going to have the rust off and it repainted for as cheaply as possible. like I am going to do all the prep work and just bring it to a good place to get painted. And since I get 50% off labour at the shop I work at I am shure I will get it repainted there. I was thinking maby black and tint the windows unless someone elce can show me a nice color. I also want to add a Turbo Hood and Turbo Mirros (Just because they look nice) maby I can ghetto rig the air filter up into the hoodscoop, I dont know yet. and sorry the car was locked and the owner wasent home so I couldent get a shot of the engine.
Well here are the images..
Rust on the door

That rust by the mouldings kinda scares me, looks like its rotted through pretty good. Other than that it looks ok. How much $$ if you dont mind me asking?

yeah, you'll need to replace that passengers door (and probably the drivers as well, if the passengers looks like that).

I would be very concerned where other cancer is lurking on that car. Like it appears both front fenders as well.

Once a car has cancer it will spead and is difficult to get rid of. You will need to replace the panels that have it, because you will never be able to kill it.

ahh I knew I forgot something.. he is asking $1800 Canadain but I am going to bring him down in price to at least 1500 or less.. the back brake line also needs a fix. BTW, He says that he has a Brand new clutch and a whole box full of engine parts for it that come with the car so thats a plus! Last time I looked at it I took it for a test drive and it runs fine! but it probably hasent had a new tank of gas in about 2 years. but in that 2 years he says that he runs it every few weeks because he knows that the selas can go bad (At least it is someone who knows a bit about rotary engines and not just some retard)

I know that the picture of the rust on the passenger door looks like it has aten through up close to the strips but it is just the picture.. it is all surface rust. The ONLY rust that has caused the paint to bubble is a small patch on the sun roof.

haha, defenatly die in a ball of fire if you even get it up there

GX's are the base models, so there basically the lightest rx7 produced.

However, i would over look it and go for the black one on autotrader.ca. It looks in mint condition, black ext, GXL, so its either red or grey leather. 135k.

check it out, my buddy was going to buy it but his parents won't let him get a sportscar.

Damnit! thats what I dont get.. they are like Shure you can get a Mustang Cobra! But when I bring up the RX-7 they are like Nooo!! It's japanese!, It will explode and kill us all then godzilla will come and eat our carcuses!.
actoually they are just like "I dont know insurance seems high are you SHURE it's not a turbo? becausr thats what the insurance company says when they look up the vin number" does anyone elce have that problem. When you look up the VIN number it says RX-7 TURBO and I am shure that bringing up the insurance eventhough a turbo has never ever been in this car.

Its the number right after FC3X, yeah I must have counted wrong... it is the 8th

See yours is a NA not a turbo VIN number.

For example FC331 is a 2 door NA coupe
FC332 is a 2 door turbo coupe
FC333 is 2 door coupe w/o auto shoulder belts
FC334 is a Turbo Vert (in series 5 it became a Turbo coupe w/o auto shoulder belt)
FC335 is a NA Vert
FC351 is a NA vert w/o airbag
FC352 is a NA vert w/ airbag
FC354 is a series 5 Turbo 'vert.

Where are you running that VIN of yours to get a Turbo listing???

I got that info from Carfax and my mom was bitching because she was wondering why the insurance company gave her such a high estimate

Carfax is not always accurate. And if the insurance company is using the same information, take them the car and prove that it is a NA
