Actually, the 2 motors Ive blown were mechanical failures not caused by qnything I did. One, the OMP failed, and caused the motor to blow. Second one, I was going to help Justin out when he blew an oil cooler hose on the way to NOPI. On the way to him, I hit a trailer fender in the road, it busted my radiator and oil cooler, and the loss of coolant fried my coolant seals. That was on a rebuild with 20K miles. I ported and rebuilt that motor, and have 9K miles on it, and now im selling it, and building myself another motor.
I dont kill my cars, I just enjoy building motors I also like trying new things. Once the motor out of my car is sold, Ill post pics of the porting, as well as thoughts and recommendations.

Wow, that really sucks, I would be pissed, and poor. I don't even have the money to rebuild my engine once, let alone twice.

I know I'm just dicking around.
I finally found the vacume leak in my intake, so tonight is the first time I have heard this exhaust at 1,000 RPM's when it wasn't under a load, and to be honest it sounded damn good for a 160 HP weed eater. And it acctually sounded like a 1 rotor mated with a chevy BB, and made a deep throughted 2 rotor or somthing like that.

I put a brand new edelbrock rpm muffler on my car the monday before last. i changed my exhaust set-up to run 3" all the way out to the right rear. then i drove down to miami.
when i started out the muffler sounded incredible. quiet purr at idle. about 3/4 of the way down i pulled of the throttle a little and heard popping. then i couldnt hear myself think. i got into miami and looked at the muffler only to see a hole the size of a dinner plate.
i think edelbrock just makes crap.
for those spintech mufflers. the internals arent fully welded, you can see the spot welds on the interior from the discoloration on the metal. with the heat from that exhaust they will blow. its just too much heat and vibration for welds that short. plus the amperage on that TIG was probably set reallly low to prevent idiots from causing blow through.
it may work though, I can tell you AS A FACT that EDELBROCK mufflers WILL BLOW on a rotary

cory. i keep getting them on warranty because i thought it was my set-up that was the problem and not the muffler. i think it was both. i am going to go with a borla xr-1 sportsman now. and if that is too loud i will put a high flow cat on it

Well I hope the borlas's hold up better for you.
And if they kept sending me a muffler that kept blowing up, I would have tried to get a refund, if you already haven't done that.
And I am just wondering do you have anything to realy compare to, to explain how loud yours was, becasue I am kinda pissed and kinda happy with the spintechs. Happy becasue they worked out and fit so nicely, and seem to be holding up very well so far. And pissed because these mufflers don't do much mufflin. And I really mean that, I didn't notice that much of a difference in noice when I put these mufflers on.
And also what type of mufflers were the edelbrocks, that may also be a big difference, because these are basically straight threw, with little baffling.

Yes, I just said that somewere, but as long as I don't top the tank off, there should be no danger of fuel leaking out and catching fire.

Yours might be a little quieter than justins due to the design differences(his actually had packing, youre is just baffles), but i think the difference would be small. Btw, Justins car with the muffler on was nearly as loud as an old camaro race car I worked on. It had a muffler, but i would be suprised if it did anything.....it was abotu 1/2" bigger than the pipe itself, and about 12" long. Long tube headers, and side exit, right about where Justins was.

Cool I'm not alone in haveing obnoxiously loud exhaust.
And I just painted it with 1,800 degree paint so I'll see how long that will last before it burns off. I hope it stays for a while.

Well I have to post an update on the exhaust, today is the first time I have taken it over 3,000 RPM's, and all I can say is Daaammmmnnnnn. Because 1st: it gave the car sooooo muccchhh high end power, I mean this little bastard went so sideways out of my drive way that I actually had to seriously let off of the gas. And 2nd: If anyone has ever watched getaway in Stockhome 2, and heard the MKIV supra, well my car sounds almost identicall to that just much louder, at about 5,000-7,000 RPM's. And I have never had such a problem with my lead foot until now, because the RPM's fly into redline, faster than I can say Ohhh nooo!!!

I did the same thing i had Rb Headers into a true dual with spintechs. IT was loud as hell. I lived with it for about 6 months then got sick of it and put it back to stock. A cop also followed me home at 1 in the morning to thell me to get it fixed caus it was too loud.
