Pics of Rev Cowl Hood mold

use high temp mold release wax, initally put at least 6 coats on, following the instructions on the can, then after each piece is popped, use at least 3 coats.
You can make or buy plastic wedges to pop the hoods off the mold, once you get it to lift off the mold a tiny bit, blow compressed air under there and it will help.
The flat parts are easy, some molds you have to leave a hole in it to blow air thru with a compressor to get them to release, then do a bit of glass repair where the hole was when you pop the part. Using clay or wax to keep the gel and resin from plugging the hole.

im workoin on it trust me.......and rob i have a question......the mold i made i didnt put enough wax on and learned my lesson cuz ive never worked with anything this big and i have a layer if the really light glass that keep threads from showing and i have three layers of the regular mat...should i go ahead and slap a few layers of cloth on considering on the mold i had to do alot of repair and filling in where the glass on the underside tore...i mean its almost perfect but should i make another mold or am i safe where im at and just reinforcing it?

your mold got damaged or the plug did? I dont know
how much wax you used or if you generated too much heat, maybe you kicked the resin off too hot? Without being there and seeing its hard to tell.
Also if you "flexed" the mold like you said that might have done it.
Add 2 more layers of mat to the mold, you did get laminating resin with no wax in it right? Do you have a buffing machine to wax the mold with?

my plug id fine.....i damamged the mold pulling it off of the plug because the glass stuck to the plug...im thinking of making another mold...its not hard or expensive really....and the resin i used was lamintaing resin...not the finishing....and yes i do have a buffing machine and i had it but it was late ayt night and it was making too much noise for my neighbors so i waxed by hand and noticed a few things that needed to be sanded yet again so i didnt sufficiently rewax those parts....but i think i could just make another mold considering i had to fill the parts alll underneath where the glass had stuck to the plug....so maybe i should just call it lesson learned and make another mold probably bestr thging to do than to risk it with a mold thats too flexy and even tho i fixed the under surface of my mold i still want it perfect so when i get the chance ill just start over.........

lool man im so broke now i cant evn get gas in my car...time to find a job......then some money.....then to get the materials i need to make one....the mold looks clean and good but im not going to be satisfied until i have something perfect and honestly 400 bux is a very lowball price considering to get something like this from japan is crazy expensive and id like to have a whole line of products once i got this done, but like i said im broke....and unless someone wants to do an upfront to get the ball rolling then im going to have to earn some moeny the hard way and fund one myself....but i think oim going to make another mold..use more wax next time.......spray on the gel coat...lil things like this that make a difference but i have to be able to feed myself first...

I would just make another mold from the plug, wax the hell out of it, use the machine to assist it. You can repair the mold if its not too bad as well, you will just have to make sure the repair is perfect or else thats the way your parts will pop out.

Yeah, the Dlz2000 hood is looking pretty damm good .
The scoop location just after the fan shroud seems perfect.
I know that myself and IAN would be interested in your hood once your into full production. We're perfectionists though, but you seem to be on the right track .

hey guys its me again DLtreezan....this is astrochilds name that im under cuz im at his house in eugene and we got together to make this happen.......so guys its going and right now we just got done wetsanding the inside of the mold and we are about to lay osme glass to get a copy out and don eby friday and maybe two more by the end o fnext week.....and during the drying stages we are doing some RD on some other products........he has many conections in town here and his father builds drag cars so we have access to all the motor shops in town so the glass here we are using is going to be 6 layers with aluminum reinforcement that weighs only grams...we have access to all of this machinery so you have lightweight, thin and strong and we are also working on canards for up front out of fiberglass and we working on fitting those and will have pics up in a few days maybe tommorow of those so some feedback on the canard will be great maybe we should just make the things and then post some pics with a new thread.......we also have some more sick ideas on the way once we get this ball rolling.......but as far as a whole product line imagine an s5 stock front with the feed lip as part of the bumper and a centered duct between the ftp's to compliment the scoops.....we are aslo going to market a VMIC with a shroud......so the air going thru the bumper duct thru the shorud and the positive air pressure sucking it out of the hood scoop....so u have increased downforce and MUCH better airflow to the IC........so small steps first....canards next to compliment even more downforce....and we have other developments in the picture as well as offering motorwork and porting extremely exciting stuf that you can only get in japan and we are going to do it here for less but we are going to keep it under wraps until we get it done, i really wanna tell you guys but now i have a business partner and it wouldnt be fair to him so we have more on the way to say the very least....and as far as putting the aluminum in yeah we are going to have to grind it so it gets a better stick....and beleive it or not there was a problem with the other carbon fiber hoods craking because the hood naturly wants to lift because of the positive pressure under neath and if you have ever seen an airflow diagram of the seven the t2 scoop actually gets nothing to it becuase its positive airflow....their is actually air that comes out rather than going in......so this whole system we are going to be offering is going to be cost effective and very functional yet good looking at the same time.......i like stuff from japan but i dont know about you guys.....a 600 dollar hood and then 900 for shipping....doesnt do it for me......welcome to this side of the pacific.....well do it ourselves......i want a line of products that peeps in japan will be shipping THERE....so we will see...but as far as body goes and we have some steps to take but i already mentioned the bumper...now some skirts to match and for the rear think stock s5 with border caps and a custom low key diffuser al in one design so for those s4 guys you dont have to go and hunt down s5 front and rears to mix and match.....so more to come....just overdivulging some of my ideas .....

HELL YEAH!!!
those are all my favorite FC body parts. god, I can't wait untill you make all these. its going to be soooooooooooooooooooooooo cool.
you guys should also try and make a bumper like this one: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=192085
but with FTP lenses .
after these parts are made, I'll actually want to modify the exterior of my car a little(nothing too crazy though), and of course, that will be after I've got some real good performance too.

hey guy's this is astrochild7 -- just applied 4th coat of wax. tomarrow i will put up plastic so we can start with the gel coats. its looking very promising. and i can't wait to bring these ideas to reality. it has been a long time in the making. with some cash flow i think we can massage some phat products...
??? for robxx7 should i use a buffer with the wax or should I apply coat over coat and when or if i should buff it?????
