Pics of before and after polishing rotor housing
Both of these housings came from the same motor...
I used:
Carb cleaner
Wire brushes
High grit sand paper (for rough spots)
Polishing compound
Dremel polishing bits.. (went through many different ones)
And a little elbow grease, and this is the before and after.

I'll post how i did it if you want...
First i cleaned the housing thoroughly with carb cleaner (several cans).. I used two different types of wire brushes (small and large flat) and some greeny weenies in this process..
Once it was clean, i used a dremel tool with a wire rotating brush to take the top layer of the rough surfaces and make them smooth.. I sanded down the 13b mazda part of the housing with high grit sand paper...
after wire brushing the whole top of the housing with the dremel, i proceeded to use a polishing compound with polishing wheels for the dremel tool.. i went through a few of them doing this...
After repeating the polishing compound 3 to 4 times... this is how it came out.
