phastest looking 2nd gen ever!!!!

you make the call!are mariah motorsports' mode 6 2nd gen the hottest 2nd gen ever.i dont care what anybody says i think they look hotter than 3rd gens!!!!!please back me up on this one.these babies are hot!!!!!!!my dream car was once a 3rd gen but now its a mode 6 2nd gen.if i would see this car in the street i would bust a nut in my pants.in the pictures it looks perfect but in person maybe it would have flaws.the kit cost 4k,the wing and hood another 3.i think its worth paying 10gs to make your current 2nd gen a mode 6 than buying a 3rd gen.

check it out and tell me what you think.

If i ever rolled up to one of those on the street i would race it and smoke the **** out of it. All show no go and plus do you have any idea how much drag that bodykit adds.

lmfao
They made a nice 3 rotor w/ a spiffy custom hood to fit it all under.
I think someone on this forum owns it now.
Kinda reminds me of an old celica w/ the front looking like it does

Someone on the forum ownes that 10th ae 20b. And he also ownes a stock 10th ae.

As for smoking these cars? All the ones on the website (the black and red ones) are putting down around 300-400rwhp.

I think if you need a widebody kit, the mariah kits are the best i've seen. Hell, i think they are the nicest looking kits anyone in the western world makes for an RX-7. The only other kits i like are the new RE kits and a couple more japan only kits.

The only think i really dont like about the mode 6 is the doors, i think they could have done something a little smoother to blend the kit together.

I like the border, and RE kit, and the upgrade stock aeros are what I'd want to stay with. **** bodykits ;-)
I think stock looks great, but think some (not many) kits are worthy of replacing them.

I think the big wing in the back looks over done. the vertical stablizers out on the ends of the wing would just create a greater blind spot for us and make it that much harder to change lanes.

I see they finally have a website up. I called them up about a year ago and they said they were "working on" one. I looked for about a month to find some pix of these kits, other than what they send you, to no avail. Nice to see they finally did it.

Amazing what a difference the color of the car makes. Red looks the best BY FAR.

They said they did no wind tunnel testing (surprise...) although you'd think they did for that kind of $$$. The guy I talked to said they did do a coast-down test, though, and it was almost dead even with a stock TII.

I'd have to say, though, that if you're going that route, you'd better have the bullets to match the gun. I'd have to go 20B or extremely high output 13BT to make the package complete. If you wanted to make the requisite power easier, you could go LS1 for a lot less, and still maintain some kind of interesting powerplant. However, if you're going as far as putting this attention-getter on your car, you might as well go all the way and spiff the extra $15k or so for the 20B conversion. Anyway you look at it, this car would be a money pit.

I really like this kit. I think it's done tastefully, and makes the 2nd gen into a really exotic-looking car. That said, all show and no go is rice, no matter how much you spent on it.

Ren

P.S. MUCH better choice than your last "looker"...

Yes, that's another tasteful example, perhaps more so. Wide fenders and agressive looks, with minimalist design. Conservative yet powerful.

Which is that, by the way?

The yellow car is nice - love the way the wing blends into the fender - the black one is just butt ugly and the red not much better - and someone spent 10G on that - crazy.

Hi guys! I am the owner of the Mariah 3 Rotor. As of yesterday, it is no longer in the hands of Mariah. It is now in the handsof my tech in Northern California being worked on. A few more items need to be taken care of - some mechanical, some interior cosmetics. While the body kit may not look like what others are looking for, I can guarantee you that it is entirely functional! I don't notice any blind spots and it is a true airfoil - thereby assisting the rear end and keeping it down at high speeds The custom vented hood and custom front end are designed for maximum airflow. That 3 Rotor is a beast! As an example, we decidied yesterday that we will be adding a second oil cooler.

Glad someone else posted agreeing w/ me. I know many would never even touch a bodykit
But I'm not sure if functinal is the name. It's a mainly japanese bodykit that vaughnc posted. He put names (or someone did) on most of them. I think he got them from HyperRev or RevSpeed or whatever those magazines are.

Thats one of my favorite kits too. I like that they kept the headlights stock! But I would add some kind of air intake to the hood (kind of like Soul Assasins) and get rid of the rear wing (for some reason I just prefer my car with out a rear wing)

I've never seen too many pics of soul assasins hood that I like.
It just seems like a small outlet, not much, guess it works.
I like how the wing is small yet sticks out and is moulded on (dunno how this does w/ frame twist) and I like the stock wing or no wing, but this style (erebuni) is quite nice.

When you buy an aftermarket kit like that is it fiberglass therefore taking weight away from your car or does it add weight because of it size and being steel?

gaaaayyyy...if i wanted a MKIII supra i could have bought one instead hehe, some people like those, but i feel it just corrupts the subtle yet beautiful lines of the FC...just my opinion though

FOOL! Didn't you know that this forum is for po' folks? :p That's why we don't drive FD's... J/K

How much did that setup cost you? I imagine well into the $20k mark...

And how did you just get it back from them and already have problems?!?

Re: Mode 5

Oops! I didn't look at the pics of the 10AE before making the last post.

Well, at least you kept the car somewhere close to stock. I don't like any of Mariah's other body kits, just the Mode 6. I have to agree, that kit looks way too much like a Supra.

I bet it still cost a lot, but I'd have done it differently, if it were mine. I can't see why anyone would want to desecrate a 10AE with a body kit. Even a 20B I think is a bad idea for a limited edition car. TII's are so readily available, why not just hack up one of them instead of this beauty?

thanx for you opinions guys.once again the firm stock lovers stay true to form and the average 2nd gen man would like it original as well.the yellow one is nice where and for how much would a person get a kit like that?i think if you dont want to go crazy with kits but you want a lil something for a cheap price classic garage is the place to go for that 335 kit,but many think its to old skool.
i would personally love to own one of those mode 6's and yup its true with a body like that you have to be shelling some serious hp and some serious cash.
