Pettit Racing Trak Pro Coilover System

I'm getting my '87 T2 chassis ready for its road racing intentions with its LS1/T-56 swap. The car will see plenty of street as well along with its Road Atlanta club events. After doing research, the Pettit Racing Trak Pro Coilovers looked like "the" ones to go with for my use of the car. Now I'm only able to find information about them with just FD use... Do these coilovers not have an FC design? If not, what's comparable in both quality and price?
Thanks,
-Tyler

AFAIK Petit never made any FC products at all. The FD is a totally different suspension design and completely incompatible (double wishbone on FD vs struts on the front and semi trailing arm on the FC)

Thanks for the response. I contacted them a while back, but never got a response.

What would y'all recommend for a good coilover setup that will see most of its time on the street with occasional trips to Road Atlanta? Not really looking for something outrageous to break the bank, just a streetable coilover with plenty of response.

Hard to say. I have the Tein Super Drift and it's too stiff for street use IMO. The Tein Flex have a lot lower rate but still very stiff, they might be ok.

How much street vs track driving will the car see?

Stance GR+ very good perfomance and price.

Best price on the net with free and fast shipping:

Also JoeCrappa has them on his FC, pm him if you have questions, I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

I'd say 70% street 30% track.

I like the mono tube design... Not so much the 'pillow ball' stuff.

I can buy Tein Flex for cheaper (used but essentially new) than that and seems to be of higher quality. 6k/5k would be great for the street but I am concerned too soft for the track...? But all of this is coming from my inexperience.

So breaking it down... If I can get Tein Flex for cheaper than the stance, which would you prefer?

Haha I just realized we're having almost this same conversation in the racing section. How much track experience do you have and what's on the car now?

Ha! Yeah I figured I would try and get multiple opinions from those that don't frequent both.

I personally have no formal track experience when it comes to a road course; only some occasional cone knocking in the parking lot.
The car is a virgin. I bought it totally stock and am now in the process of building something that's right for me. So to answer your question, it has the drivetrain pulled with the new powerplant combo in the basement and is on jackstands right now waiting for me to build the car for the power. As the motor sits now it is good for a little under 500hp at the crank, but will probably mess around with valvetrain some to bring that number down to a more reliable 450ish.

Gahhh that's way too much car to start out on... You should think about putting the stock motor back in there and run HPDE with it until it blows up. It's hard to learn to drive fast correctly with so much power for a number of reasons.

Oh I know; that is why the car will mainly be used for the street. I've had plenty of high horsepower cars, but this will be the first with twisties being kept in mind. But it is all a learning process that is intended to be fun and not necessarily competitive... Track use will be limited to open NASA events or club track rentals until I get hooked... Then we'll take the car from there

Still too much power for early adventures IMO... Everything happens way faster, makes it harder to learn to do things correctly at first. More power also masks your mistakes on cornering, you can get a horrible run out of the turns and still carry a huge amount of speed. You'll also go through consumables like tires and brakes at a dramatically increased rate. Same thing on a fancy suspension, with the added issue that it could be set up wrong and you won't know since you don't have that much experience to depend on to tell you how the car is handing. Plus you could be spending all that money on seat time!
