I have seen a blown mustang (race engine not stock)
turn 8,000 rpm with a paxton.....
I have been around blowers of all shapes and sizes
and owned paxtons,dyers,vortech blowers..
all centrifigal blowers (i.e.) paxton have to spool up
(to some what) smaller degree that a turbo but
it depends a lot on how its set up
a roots type(i.e.) dyers(brand name) has boost from the word go
but uses more engine horses to build higher boost
at higher rpms...
I would think it would be very difficult to set a roots type
system on a rx-7 anyway...
then you have wipple screw type blowers...
wich is similar to a roots type set up...
and a long time ago they even made a rotary blower...
bottom line is a as long as bearings..etc..are in good
shape the occasinal blast to redline will not hurt a
paxton one bit...

I dont know about you guys but when I AutoX I stay at redline most of the time. It doesnt seem worth the time and money in my opionion. Just save alittle more and get a TII engine + drivetrain. Really is the NA gonna handle the power? I already have destroyed a driveshaft. Only intake, full exh, streetport, no emission.
Shoudnt be making nearly as much as SCd. Just my opionion though.

true, by changing the pulley size, it would decrease the amount of boost created, but changing the impeller setup inside could help retain higher boost levels. as far as running at redline, my car wont be doing any autox and for the most part i dont do too many 8k runs to begin with. all i want to accomplish is a little more low end torque and some power. putting a tII in an na correctly would be a hell of a lot more(time + money) expensive over putting together a mild sc setup. my opinion.
