A good rule for any kind of painting to prep with 320 to 400 and finish with 800 or better (some people start at 1000) I've never finished out the rims, because it thins the clear and looks perfectly good without. If you want mirror shine, start with 1000, then 1200 then 1500 then use a good rubbing compound to finish it out.

Freddy, jsut remember that you shouldn't mix paint companies. Dupli color paint, Dupli Color clear. Krylon paint, Krylon clear. Different paint compaines and differnt paint types use chemicals and stuff that can react funny with eachother and create ugly and unwanted "custom" effects

I've heard that as well, but never actually experienced it. I've had good luck spraying Dupont Omni AU and PPG clears over Duplicolor, but that's just because that's what I had. If you were going to just buy clear, the Duplicolor Clear wheel coating works well too. No chips so far, and I don't exactly baby it

Do you have any pictures of the 91 rims on you car?
