painted black gxl wheels
does anyone have a pic of s4 GXL wheels that have been painted black??
i think i saw a 7 on ebay a long time ago with them like that, and id like to do that to my wheels, mainly cause their the dull finish ones and their old and stuff
would it be easy to paint them
what would be the best kind of paint???

Yeah, after painting the, I switch lug nut styles...and kinda forgot about painting them..oh well, they aren't on my car anymore. I just had them on until I got my new wheels, I just didnt wanna run around on plain stock rims...so I painted them. I used High Temp Engine paint, Flat Black. Just make sure they are VERY clean before you paint them...mine were brushed, not that dull silver color.

Hmm... anyone ever seen the S5 GXL rims painted black?
I think it would prolly look really ghetto on my black car though... lol....
...but then I guess that would fit well with the rest of the car

yeah, yeah, one of those. It does its job fine, and its a knockoff no matter how you look at it.

A feed knockoff replica is the *SAME EXACT* thing, but made by other company with different materials. The feed spoiler a HIGHLY demanded (or should say dreamed) in the FC community!!
BTW - Yours is not a knockoff nor a replica, is a one of a kind mold just so that you know what you have in your car

What kinda paint is that, and how did you do it. Anything special...did you seperate the wheel and tire assembly when you did it? Please give us a writeup or just a quick lesson on how you did it. I've always wanted to do that . Thanks ahead of time....

omg dood.. you coulda just said a KNOCK OFF lip instead of a FEED one
mikeL and feed replicas are different lips. you dont need a stamp of approval, just common sense to realize they're not the samething.
here is your lip (the mikeL / similar to demonspeed lip)
here's the FEED replica, made by wormiez.

Is that FEED knockoff, whom ever it is made by, is it Fiberglass like mine, or Poly?Or what...also, is it S5 only? I like it better than mine, and if its not fiberglass, maybe it will hold up better than mine, its really fragile.

it's specific for s5, but i think wormiez tried to test fit it on a guys s4 that's local to us and it fit. however, someone on this forum bought it, and it didnt fit, so ..
he doesnt make the lip anymore though, but i suppose it woudlnt hurt to PM him about it
anyhow, HTH and cleared things up b/w the MiekL and FEED knockoffs

Sell em to ya, 200+shipping, new tires too. Potenza RE910's. I was just keeping them for playing with but I don't REALLY need them I have 2 other sets of wheels and tires.
If not, here is what I did....and remember, these where BRUSHED aluminum when I started, not the dull silver...meaning they had a clear coat onthem when I started..
1. Clean...clean, clean, clean! I used some wheel cleaner, and then just some dish soap. Also clean the tires up, IF they are on the wheels, mine were.
2. Dry..get everything nice and dry, wheels and tires. Air hose, towel, whatever you wanna use.
3. I did NOT scuff up the wheels, all I did was sand the LIP of the wheels to get some road grime and took off the wheel weights...no other sanding was needed.
4. I used HighTemp engine paint, shake it up good, and applied a SUPER thin coat on all the wheels..you could barely see the paint on the wheels..a light mist. couple of minutes, another...little heavier, not much tho! Couple of minutes, and another coat...you get the picture. Mine has 4thin coats, and 1 good last coat. Let them dry for awhile, that engine paint dries fast, but you don't wanna drive around on freshly painted wheels. I didn't wash them for a few days after I painted them either. Also, seeing that the tires were clean, I oversprayed on them, you can't see anything, they are black! It actually makes the tires look better, shinny.
