paint the CF hood or back to NA standard?
recently its dawned on me that ive gone a little overboard into frankenwankeland. i really like my panspeed hood, the vent is really fun. but i cant help but notice that it changes the look and balance of the car, especially unpainted and when i take the lip off. the question is, should i paint it, put the stock alum hood back on, or is it because i took the front lip off for towing? im not sure if the weight savings/temps will have a greater effect than the drag and turbulance for a NA application. plus, its a real cop magnet now, with a swapped motor. to be honest, the stock one makes the car look wider and lower. you decide!

a few more concerns:
the panspeed hood compliments the panspeed fenders, unnecessary?
no other e production or track fcs (its) i see run vented hoods N/A. this includes mazdatrix or AWR, both can kick my *** around a track
a lot of the times NA's blow coolant seals, so this is a concern for me
i dont think that i can quantify that it lowers the engine bay temperatures for non turbo. for all i know, the air could be not interacting with the radiator correctly, or again, drag could add more load than the hood helps with cooling.
i could feel an increase of agility when i drove the car for the first time with the hood, but i dont think this means it can generate as much grip or stay as planted in the front. it also bumps slightly harder now. the stock hood is better for stability, for better and for worse.
its easy to spot my go fast bits from the vent, including illegal cone filer, red engine, and subframe..its kickass but also attracts unwanted attention from theives or again, cops.

hmm, panda is more S4ish. my cars halfway there and sometimes it freaks me out. the mirrors need to get painted to. at first i liked them, but they make the body look too boxy without color matching ryouske style..i feel like the NA hood just looks a lot faster..but heres a pic where it looks good!
also, NA handles at lower speed, where weight and engine temps matter more than aero..hmmm

I don't know about elegance and all that, I say **** the looks and go fast. Probably while my car is 3 different colors and rolfstomps Hondas like it is going out of style. I personally love the look of your car, but I'm no cosmetic expert. The more functional and fast a vehicle looks the more I like it. There is something sexy about a 7 that has transformed into a track beast.

The world is my track, and the track is my world. If they didn't want me to attack corners like they owed me money why would they make roads sooooooo curvy?! The beauty of the rx7 is that it is 100% a racing thoroughbred! Front engine rear wheel light weight 2 seater coupe! Your next step up is a Ferrari or some other super car. They're meant to be driven hard and loved harder! I can't imagine owning another car more exquisite than the rx7, she's the only high maintenance needy red headed bitch I need in my life. Stock they're only 1/10th as beautiful as they can be, the beauty is in function and soul not in what can be perceived with the eye. In Japanese they call it tamashii, the rx7 has it in spades.

i'm not a fan of CF hoods, i'd paint it or put the NA hood on. i DO really like the overfenders with stock lip, its very nice!
you are right too, its very easy to make the FC look tall and narrow (it kind of is, its a small car), but it looks much better when you make it look low and wide. the overfenders + stock lip work very well that way.

I have a reverse induction hood like what he is rocking and not only do I think it looks amazing I haven't had any problems with belt squealing or too much water up under the bonnet. I like that it is much lighter but I had to remove my hood latch and fabricate holes for hood pins just to hold that bad boy down.

If your asking this question, you should probably paint it. Most cops won't notice the fact you have an aftermarket hood if its the same colour as the car. Personally i like the CF look, but colour coded also looks good to.
