Paint?

Anyone know where I would get auto body paint? I'm gonna paint my engine bay here in a few days, and I need to know where I can find the kind of paint I'd use to put in a air compressor paint gun (like the kind they use at body shops).

And any idea what it would cost for enough of it to paint my engine bay?

The coolest thing ive ever seen done, was someone painted there engine bay with truck bed liner, looks great, and easily cleaned, and is hard to scratch.
Haha, that sounds cool.
But thats for another day, I just wanna get it cleaned up.

Oh, and all I need is the paint, I got the plastic sheeting and masking tape, etc and my engine bay will be ready to go at the time im gonna do it.

gonna paint it almost to match the car, just to fix up the engine bay a bit. The original paint job missed alot of spots. Currently the car is glacier white (?), and I want to make it a little brighter of a white, which I will later paint the rest of the car to match.

and you don't know where to find the paint? Have you tried the yellow pages? Phone book?
Aye, it would. But I have my engine out now due to unrelated problems, so I the car is not going anywhere for the time being, and Im not gonna paint the body myself. And when I get it painted, I don't want to have to empty the engine bay again.

And about the phone book, thats what I was asking. What would I wanna look under? Body shops? Paint stores? Car dealerships? That was the point of my whole question

what kinda car?

I thought that truck bed liner weighed tons and melted at around 200F.

*edit
and look for paint at the local paint stores, like Sherman williams or frazee. If they don't have it they can more than likely get it.

where in cali? i know of a few places in san diego. its not that hard to color match if you know the paint code of your car. your engine bay shouldn't take more than half a gallon of paint. and for half a gallon of PPG it costs about $20-25 (thats the lowest price i've found so far) but then you need all the additives so that'll add another $15 to it. If your in SoCal, PM me and I'll let you know the shop name.

Its not the cheap kind. Its PPG. The shop I buy paint from sells paint and supplies for an autobody class that was offered here. I guess that's why the price is so low because it's a student price. I got my whole paint setup for $100. I got a gallon of base, a gallon of clear, the hardener, and all the additives for that much. I still have paint left for another coat I got paint for other people and they seem to be happy with the color matching. Maybe since I'm so close to the border that it's cheaper than other places.
