Igot that e-mail last night and almost cried. My Cutlass would be gone My celebrity (POS but I ;love that car ) would be gone The reason iI fell in love with cars to begin with would be junked> But the worst Is my friend dans vehichles 76 Suburban scottsdale and his 68 buick le sabre. Every thing with this bill is just ****** stupid. This would also eliminate a whole culture in this country. I pray the ****** treehuggers dont get this bill through!!

Your all worrying about nothing. How many MILLIONS of people in the US have valuable cars older than fifteen years? People that value classic cars like other people value their ******* LIVES!!! Like Icemark said, it would be VOLUNTARY. Id be more worried about the world's crude oil supply running out. And I don't think that will happen in any of our lifetimes. Its ******* amazing the laws some of those *********** are trying to pass. Government is FUCKED UP!!!

I agree that this law is just more and more socialism infiltrating our own government to be used against the american people. BUT there are WAY to many cars in america that are older than 15 years old. Think about it, that is 1987, how many pre 1987 cars do you see on the road, TONS OF THEM. there is no way, the Stallin loving dipshit that thought this up should be accused of treason and drug out to the street and shot.

the WHOLE point of it isn't that it's voluntary or whatever, it's that:
A) They're taking away parts cars from us (cars that would NEVER again run in their lives, they crush them anyway). How many people are going to completely restore an FB (or an FC) if they don't have a $200 parts car, instead they've now got to pay $2000 for their parts car, because the feds paid the states to crush them, so now they're rare.
B) They're doing it with our money.

Exactly. This sort of program is stupid because the cars are CRUSHED, wasting valuable resources. Recycling isn't just crushing stuff, melting it down, and making beer cans. (Go Beer!!) It's reusing existing resources. These programs are directly counter-productive and put us back into the hands of the auto industry. (I wonder how much money the Big 3 have put into seeing this bill pass? If it passes, it should make them $$BILLIONS$$)

Damn. If those programs were more successful, I wouldn't even HAVE my FC. I got my '86 GXL out of a local scrapyard. Now I have a second (crashed) FC I'm scrapping out for parts. If Uncle Sugar had his way, they'd BOTH be beercans by now.

A country of a little more than 1 million people managed to gather an "army" of 0,5 million to fight back the Germans and the Italians in two fronts. I'd like to see your country do that....oh I forgot, you know NOTHING about being under the boot of the invader for a day, a month, a year or a century. To be honest, neither do I (because I'm only 28 years old), but BELIEVE YOU ME, we learn about these things...
