ORC Super Single Clutch release bearing
I bought a used ORC super single clutch for my S5 turbo 2 engine. The clutch didn't come with a release bearing so I just bought a new stock one. I now have the engine and transmission back together and i was assembling/bleeding the clutch hydraulics when I noticed that the clutch never fully disengages and the clutch fork moves almost its whole operating distance before it makes contact with the pressure plate. I think this might be because of the difference in thicknesses between the stock bearing and the orgura one? I can't find any dimension on the ogura bearing. I think this might be the problem, but I want to make sure before I spend $150 on a bearing and a weeks worth of time. Just wondering if anyone else has had experience with this, thanks

The only way to solve that issue, would be to remove the trans.. again and remove the new Clutch Assembly,and lay it on its back then measure the new pressure plate forks height against the original set of ( Pressure plate) forks.... from the old one....you will know right away what is required.. ..regardless who makes it...Good luck................FP

It is a true S5 T2 engine and trans. I spent a good couple of hours bleeding it till a solid stream of hydraulic fluid came out with no bubbles. The fork moves freely almost the whole length of the cut out section in the trans before it contacts the pressure plate, and the rod on the slave cylinder is almost extended all the way out before the pedal builds pressure though. I know this is an old thread but did this fix your issue? I'm about the undergo the install of the same exact clutch and I'm a little unsure if i can get away with the OEM replacement throw-out bearing?

Since it is pointless to start a new thread for this I shall state my findings after purchasing the ORC throw-out bearing. The difference between the stock unit and the ORC unit is length of the ORC which is an 1/2'' to 3/4'' longer than the stock one. With the stock throw-out bearing installed, I tried doing the exact same stuff as the OP to try get it to fully disengage. But ever since I installed the ORC throw-out bearing, the clutch does fully disengage feel went back to a stock feel which is what I was hoping for. So to answer the OP's question is YES. you need the ORC throw-out bearing for this clutch/ flywheel setup to work properly.
