My friend is buying an FD for $1000 with a blown motor in it, but his dad knows a guy with a totaled FD with a good engine in it and plans to swap it out, and hes going to give me the old engine for free.

Now i beleive the engine only has a blown apex but there may be other things wrong with it but, no complaints if its free. I plan on getting a FC in the near future and was wondering on peoples opinions to the 13b-REW swap to the FC(i know the FAQ said its hard but i want something different), ive read about it on http://www.fc3spro.com/ and was wondering.

I want peoples opinions on this swap and if anyone has it, how it went and does it work well and are there any major ups to doing this.

I plan to rebuild the engine myself in a very very very slow process, maybe pic up the DVD on rebuilding and do it over a 6-12 month process, and learn a lot along the way.

I'm not asking on information on how to do it, but just opinions on the swap. If you know about any similar threads that may hold some good information please post them.

There was one guy in here awhile back that did it in like 3 day's it was badass! But he was criticized and flamed for it the whole time though. It was still sick though.
